Lion vs Aligator

Don't forget folks, a crocodile and an alligator are two totally separate animals. They belong to different families.

I'd have to say lion (assuming we are talking about African Lions). They have the size and the strength and agility to take on an alligator (assuming the American Alligator, as it is the largest alligator of the two surviving species). I mean, come on - people do alligator wrestling, I think a lion could decimate the alligator. Granted, if the gator got the lion in it's jaws, game over lion, but I think if you had ten Li-gator fights, 9 times of 10 the lion would have the speed and agility to win.

Looking at those Youtube videos (albeit those were crocs), I just don't think the gator has the agility it would need to win.

Though, also looking at the video, looks like more posturing was done than anything else.

I'd definitely go with the lion here - so much more agility that a croc on land. Now put the lion into the swamp, that�s a different story�

I don�t think this would be a great matchup, though. What about a lion vs. a bear? Now that would be something.
