Can we please please PLEASE stop saying this? I own 0 Apple products right now and I HATE Flash! Apple was right to drop it and people like you say stupid things like this, implying that it might be considered in the future. Even Adobe is killing it off, why bring it up? |
Like it or hate it (which a lot of people do), Flash is still a major component in internet usage. What's the harm in giving you the option as Android users have? |

Did you pre-order this in Korea? It's going to be in your hands on the 16th in Korea? |

meh, html5 is superior ... flash is shit and always has been overrated. youtube is moving away from flash and so will every other major site. apple has always been ahead of the curve in terms of development ... i rarely "need" to use flash and most times its only purpose is to force shit advertising at you. just look at korean websites, bloated ad-infested shitholes ... and bombarded with crapalicious flash!
back on topic, my wife's computer is about to die a horrible death, so i'm thinking we'll get the new ipad ... a macbook pro and ipad will do just fine at home. |

The harm? The fact that it crashes my phone and resets it. The fact that it is outclassed by HTML5. The fact that the "benefit of choice" creates some sort of justification for people to continue supporting and developing with that bloated piece of garbage. NO. |

I've never had a single problem with Flash on any platform. I sometimes watch Flash sports streams on my phone and I get some slowdown but never a crash. I guess I'm one of the lucky ones lol. |

And as an owner of a Samsung Galaxy S, which I bought over the Apple Iphone 4 specifically for Flash support - never trust Samsuck to deliver Flash properly. Updates broke Flash on my phone, and total reformatting only allows it to work temporarily until forced updates break it once again.
I used to tout the Flash mantra too... Then I bought into this Samsung POS and was rewarded with crappy software and a lack of company interest in supporting old products in favor of the latest/greatest new thing they're selling. |

Flash rarely works "out of the box" on Android. Since Adobe is no longer supporting mobile flash, its pointless to have it on a mobile platform. Flash support, IMO, is not a good reason to choose a product over another.
On the web developer side, Flash is the epitome of programmer laziness. You want to keep the budget down as much as possible so they code in Flash. A business that cares about developing a website will code it to run on platforms that are platform independent (Java, HTML5). |

to all the naysayers at the end of the day the ipad is worth it just for the icade! http://arstechnica.com/gaming/news/2011/07/the-icade-review-your-ipad-as-a-100-arcade-machine.ars which i bought for 50 quid in england but its also great for
comics (not my cup of tea but my mate is a fanatic)
books/magazines (my current torrented faves include discover and edge)
portable web/email
social
basically its a great media consumption device
and dont forget games! besides dedicated gaming devices it really has the best titles (if u dont beleive check the first 5 pages of ios reviews and andorid reviews on gamespot). my personal choices are pretty simple ones though... mahjong/chess/backgammon/pinball/monopoly/reversi anything my privates love to play too. some of the higher end games are pushing console graphics...infinity blade II/modern combat/rage/need for speed.
theres really no need to buy the latest n great version though...just get a great condition 2nd hand older one n jailbreak it! |

So I got my iPads via Fed Ex the other day. The retina display is nice, but you have to have HD sources and you have to have it pretty close to your face to see the difference. Since I often use my iPads at a distance to play videos in the background as I do other things, I don't notice it too much.
I'm looking forward to activating the hotspot feature as soon as my MiFi hotspot contract ends next month. I think that would be the most attractive/useful feature to me, since Apple did not increase storage size at all.
The price on my 64GB 4G iPad was in excess of $900 after tax and disposal fee. Man, that is getting pricey. Last week, I bought a new, but older gen Macbook Air with 256 SSD for $1000 shipped. When tablets are within spitting distance of nicer laptops, it's probably priced too high. |

Got mine in Friday and it's fantastic. Doing anything at a regular distance, the screen is incredible. Coming from a first generation iPad this thing is noticeable faster and smoother all around. Hands down worth the upgrade.
I'm waiting to activate my 3G service, but that should go as planned |
