Yes...however there are exceptions. I was hired directly by my school so I knew well ahead of time where I was going. But this was outside the main hiring period though, (that might have had something to do with it as well.)
But generally speaking you don't find out until you are at orientation. You CAN put down 3 choices but ultimately the decision lies with EPIK/GEPIK |
Actually you know what city/province you will be in before orientation, just not the school. |

Do you know when you are likely to find out about which city/province you are in? Would this be around January time after the documents and interview?
Also, I thought all GEPIK places were in the same province, Gyeonggi? |

Yes right around the beginning of January for most people this year. You pass your interview, send in your docs, then it's a big waiting game. If you apply directly instead of with a recruiter, you can usually find out where you'll be a bit sooner.
And yes GEPIK is all of Gyeonggi. |

And since you wanna be close to the Seoul Subway, if you go with EPIK, your options are pretty much limited to having Incheon as your first choice. SMOE is cutting back jobs nowadays so who knows what their situation will be next year.
Incheon usually only has 12-24 spots per intake. I was able to be in one of the 24 this year I think by luck and favor because I def got my docs in a bit late.
GEPIK might give you a bit more options. |

| Thank You for your response. I will probably go for GEPIK and then if that fails, I shall gamble and go down the Hagwon route. |
