D3 is different from other Blizz games, in that it's not region locked. You can buy an English client, then play it in any region you want. I'll be playing on the Korean servers, lag would make the game unplayable in a party once you get to the later difficulties. (you can even try it out on the NA servers, then switch to Korean if you're not happy with the lag. characters won't transfer though) |
I'm very happy that we'll be able to pick any server. I heard there are some restrictions using the Auction House if you sign up from Korea because it is against Korean law, but I don't know any details about it. Apparently this restriction is not connected to where you are playing, but where you live when you sign up. This might be relevant if you are planning to spend money on items or want to become a part time gold farmer.
I would guess it works ok to play on US servers too. I didn't have any latency problems playing the beta, which I assume is located on the US servers. It might of course depend on your ISP how well it will work, and will of course be faster on Korean servers (10 ms vs 150 ms for example). |

Somebody's been playing too many MMO's. There is no raiding in Diablo games.
Everything in the game is solo-able, (as long as your gear is up to snuff) and the difficulty of the game scales to the number of players. Max number of players at once is 4, hardly a raid group. |
Gear up to stuff is the kicker.
Tough to get gear when you cant kill anything. |

What region are you logged into for battlenet? If you were logged into Korea region when you bought maybe you probably bought the Korean version |

If you got the Gmarket version you're locked into Korean. Even worse, you can't buy another key to play in english. I haven't been a battle.net player up till now so I've just made a new account registered to the US and am going to buy a new key direct from Blizzard. Still, 60 bucks down the drain burns. |

I understand there's no workaround it. I doubt Blizzard will change that either. It's a way to prevent people from buying cheaper versions of the game, so I guess I shouldn't hold it against Blizzard.
Still ... The EU version costs around the equivalent 100k KRW on battle.net, so I would have liked to buy the local one, it's almost twice as cheap. |

Its been very stable for me, except on launch day when with all the Error 37 and Error 3003. I heard the Asia servers crashed yesterday. Its a good thing I'm on the US servers, when I get home its already 1am PST to the traffic is fairly light |

I purchased the English version of Diablo 3 and in the options menu it gives you the option to change the language from English to around 5-6 different languages. Does the Korean version not have this change language option? I can't understand why you can change the language on the English version of the game but not the Korean version. |

The Korean version can not change to another language. The Korean version is 10,000W cheaper than the English version, so maybe a possible reason it is cheaper. |

I've got a US battle.net account but was able to change my region on the battle.net web store to SE Asia/English (bottom right hand corner tiny map/option all the way to the right). That let me buy the International multi-language version (English included) with a credit card through Paypal.
Haven't had any trouble getting on American servers and playing so far...slight jumps from lag sometimes but nothing too bad. |

So if you buy from Blizzard online, do you also have to pay a monthly fee? Or is the one off purchase all there is? I keep hearing different things... |
