IMO Samsung is holding off on the S3 because of how well the Note is selling, (currently the highest selling and most expensive smartphone on the market)

It's being announced on May 3.

Some places say it is being released on May 3, but I'm not sure if that's true. Would be nice though.

I am thinking about making the switch to an android once the galaxy s3 is released. I have used an iphone for quite some time now and... I'm just a little bored, time for change!

That's exactly how I feel too! Used the iPhone, 3G, and 4. Unless the 5 wows me, i'm probably switching to the S3/Note. Somewhat on-topic but I can't stand KT anymore. Maybe i'll switch to U+ LTE too.

I couldn't do the note because it is running old version of the OS. The s3 at least will be running the newest and will get an upgrade or two before Samsung forgets about it Razz

Bit off topic but what's your problem with KT? I haven't had any issues with them for the past 3 years.

It seems like 90% of people in Seoul use either SK or KT because they're the biggest carriers so I was thinking maybe switching to U+ will be a bit better, especially during those peak usage times.

What is a general smart phone monthly bill like?

And about how much would an S2 cost now?

The average smartphone bill can range anywhere between 50,000-120,000+ won depending on services and the type of phone you have. I'm paying about 70,000/month for my iPhone 4 on KT, in which each month I am paying off a part of the phone.

My friend got an S2 (not HD/LTE) a month or so ago for free and he's paying around 50,000 won a month on SK but he did get it from a friend's store.

Identical scenario.

That's because he didn't make a special broadcast video with bright flashing hangeul characters that blaze across the screen and promote all his positive attributes whilst showing him with whitened teeth, and sporting a Hawaiian shirt, using strobe lights for impact.

I heard from a Samsung rep that it won't be coming to Korea until late June...maybe even later.
They still haven't released the latest Galaxy Tab 7 here...which was available in America last week.
Still no official ICS update yet either for the Note or the Galaxy 7.7...tick tock...tick tock. Crying or Very sad

An early review of the S3:

http://www.telegraph.co.uk/technology/samsung/9243530/Samsung-Galaxy-S3-review.html

Everything looks pretty good and i'm ready to make the switch but 2 questions remain:

1. Price
2. Battery life

Unless Apple's next iPhone takes it up a notch I think i'm sold on the S3.

From what I've read battery life should be better than before.

Actually, my S2 got about a 30% increase in battery life when I upgraded it to Ice Cream Sandwich. It actually lasts a day now. (Similar to my previous Iphone 3gs.. maybe a bit better than that).

The only upgrade I want now is a swipe-to-camera option from the lock screen.
