It sounds simple on paper for the applicant.

- degree (no apostille or notarization)
- transcripts
- certification of relevant experience (quite easy for jobs within Korea)

That's more or less it. What makes it harder is that the employer has to gather and complete some other paperwork. One of the forms involves the employer having to explain why they cannot hire a Korean for the job. Also, there are like 70+ different types of E-7 visas for different positions, such as translator, engineer, etc.

That and the experience requirements are the main kickers. A friend of mine did editing/curriculum work (traditionally an E-7 job) under an E-2 for a few years and couldn't use the experience toward getting an E-7 later since his employers were skirting the system. Rolling Eyes

Plus the relevant ministry can just say no for pretty much no good reason. Breeze for the applicant, potentially a nightmare for the employer.
