| I was out in Chilgok the other night to visit a friend. I have no idea what the big deal is. There is a Homeplus, 2 theaters an Outback and other restaurants etc... Not sure why people are saying it's miserable. Getting downtown would take about 30-40 mins by bus. |

Hello guys,
A big thank you for all the replies and insights you have given me. I was actually living in Korea last year and did not visit any of these places, thats why i needed some opinions. I was living way out in Seosan on the west coast. I used to visit Seoul once a month, I like to find English book stores etc.
I guess if i lived in Daegu i could do a trip to Seoul once a month easily.
The academy is new there but the owner has had previous hagwons so i think that should all be ok. Actually the job in Osan did not work out, they gave it to somebody else who was already in Korea.
Now its between Daegu and Gimpo.... all i know of Gimpo is that there is a small airport there. Is it similar to Osan? (small place just outside Seoul)
If anybody has ANY info on Gimpo please let me know, i have fedex arriving soon to collect my documents and im still deciding!
Many Thanks

You won't have to go to Seoul for English book stores or much else. Daegu is the 3rd largest city in Korea. Where is the hagwon in Daegu? |

Hey Guys,
I have been offered jobs in both Osan and Daegu. I heard that Osan is like 40 mins away from Seoul which would be convenient, but Daegu also sounds like it has everything I need.
The hagwon in Osan is like 9am -7pm and the one in Dageu is brand new, less hours and more free time. Both are the same salary.
Any thoughts on either would be much appreciated.
Thanks!! |
I used to work in Osan. Few of those teachers recommended those places. But you are correct, it is relatively close to Seoul. I don't know about Daegu. |
