Get some antibiotics for the blooming infection because odds are the dentist cannot work on your tooth until the infection subsides anyway.
Clearing the infection will also reduce whatever pain you have. If you are lucky they can simply clean the tooth of debris and cap it with a filling. If you are less lucky it will be a root canal followed by a filling. If your luck flushed down the toilet the tooth will need to come out and be replaced (that can be expensive). |

No pain really, but the tooth is an old milk tooth and I have been told it will have to come out. I can't really afford to get a replacement yet so will leave it empty until i can get the work done back in the uk. |

Ok then.
Still, making sure no infection sets in should be your priority because if the gums swell up due to infection you will typically have to wait until the swelling goes down and the infection subsides to get any sort of work done on the tooth.
Good luck! |

An infection will slowly eat away at the soft bone under your tooth, eventually rendering it difficult or impossible to add even an implant. Ask me how I know.
Get it checked ASAP. |

It's important to floss or use inter-dental toothbrushes daily.
Just brushing twice per day (or even three times) isn't enough. Especially if you come from an area where you are used to having fluoride in your water. Adjustments have to be made. |

| Finally got my diagnosis. He said I need a crown. Is 450,000 about right for a crown? |

Yep. I had a tooth crack last year, and that's how much it cost (slightly more, but I went to a snazzy place, I think). Expect about six trips or so before all the work is done. |

| They had to grind the tooth down, put on a fake crown, and lord only knows what else. As soon as the dentist was done he made tracks, so I never really knew what was going on, I was just told to come back in a few days. They didn't even give me a free toothbrush or a high five when they were done, either. |

sounds about right to me. I have some pretty bad teeth and just got my crown today. Cost 450,000 and i guess I have been there and back 6 times for it all to get finished up. |
