koreans don't really get the whole sarcasm thing

Yeah Asia doesn't do sarcasm.

Comedy and live music, two things that would definetly be nice.

Oddly some Chinese people do do sarcasm with much aplomb. I had to do a double take when I saw it but some places there have very dry humor.

Perhaps because most of the people teaching, studying, and the few lifers would likely not be interested in celebrities sex, impression, men & women, marriage, money, and world politics without it having something to do with Korean life.

Are you serious? You mean to tell me that if Louis CK/Chris Rock/Billy Connolly/Bill Burr/etc. came here and just did their standard routine without anything Korea-specific that the NETs and lifers here would pooh-pooh it and complain about the lack of Korea jokes?

What do NETs and lifers suddenly stop following media and current events back home?

"Man that Chris Rock sucked. Not one joke about ajummas."

think that men & women here and their relationships are quite different than anything back home...along with marriage, money trends, and even view of world politics.

Relationships? You mean Gold-diggers, cheating boyfriends and husbands, failures at dating, awkward situations, and desperate attempts to get laid don't happen here? Obviously, because I have NEVER seen those things in Korean comedy movies or TV shows and US comics NEVER joke about those things. Rolling Eyes

Money Trends? Buying stupid stuff that just sits around and gathers dust? $2000 outfits while living in a dump? Can't get a job but rich-boy with connections can? Treated like crap by your boss? Totally non-existent either here or back home.

World Politics? Maybe there's some uniqueness here, but then again, just about every country has a punching bag.
