If you're absolutely not going to leave, request an AC from the boss one more time, and if she doesn't buy it, just bite the bullet and get one yourself. It's worth it. After you buy it, you could even try billing your boss for it, or just giving her a copy of the receipt and saying something like "I know you didn't have time to get me one, so I just got it myself, I got a pretty good price, if you could pay me back by the end of the week that'd be great." You've got nothing to lose....except your bathroom products.

I don't think that would work. If he won't pay for it willingly then I highly doubt the boss would be too happy if you went behind his back and bought one and then said could you pay for it.
It ain't the USA here.

What?

But, his boss must want his empoyees living in high-quality rooms with modern technology. Afterall, this is "Dynamic Korea" and the "Hub of Asia."

Right...but his boss has said before that she will get him one, she just hasn't done it. Are you saying that the boss has no intention of buying the AC, even though she has said she would? Cuz well, that's just plain lying. That's rarely acceptable anywhere.

In any event, the point is for multiple reasons he needs the AC. They're not cheap but buying one also isn't gonna break the bank. So he should get one and hope to be paid back, but even if he's not paid back he'll be comfortable and not have his bathroom vandalized.

Welcome to Korea.
All I can say is make sure all your bases are covered as lying and cheating are a part of life here.

I'm not anti-Korea, I'm just telling you the truth.

Most Asian countries run on corruption and lying, its a part of life to say one thing here and then do the other.

I hope you are ready Smile

Is it possible to buy a dehumidifier here? I found that to be a really nice alternative to having an AC when I was in Canada. They blow cool air and dry the place up a lot.
