Samsung Launch in South Africa brings us back on the sexist front - because there ain't no stoppin Samsung. But why doesn't S. Korea let us know what Samsung is up to abroad?
http://www.girlguides.co.za/2013/03/20/girlguides-samsung-apology/#!prettyPhoto
"GirlGuides welcomes this statement and hopes that other companies will learn from Samsungs example. All across Africa, women are discriminated against in the IT world and massively under-represented in high skilled roles partly as a result of intimidation and fear in the workplace. The issue of women and technology has never been more acutely sensitive than it is now, and we believe that leaders like Samsung have an enormous role to play in helping everyone, regardless of age, gender, race or colour, to benefit from the rapid developmental advances modern technology can bring."

Dear Samsung, dont fall into sexist trap
http://www.girlguides.co.za/2013/03/15/dear-samsung-dont-fall-into-sexist-trap/
"Samsungs launch of the galaxy s4 smartphone last night in New York has been marred by its rather old-fashioned ideas about the interaction between women and technology. CNET editor Molly Wood called it shockingly sexist and we tend to agree. But earlier this week, at its Africa Forum in Cape Town, Samsung was guilty of even more stereotyping and tawdry marketing tactics.
It demoed a range of fridges with bikini-clad dancers handing out water bottles and launched a range of Wobble washing machines complete with the same barely pubescent dancers shaking their stuff in swimsuits. As far as we can tell, women love Samsung products and are some of the main users of Galaxy phones and their like, and the company has some great ideas for alleviating the problems of women in poor, rural areas. so why would the company go out of its way to alienate us?
The same feelings motivated Samantha Perry, one of South Africas most experienced technology journalists, to write the following open letter to the company..."
Didn't Samsung fall into the trap long ago? Click on the above link to read the open letter. |

I've had about enough of the PC/Feminist crap.
Yes, women of the USA, many of you are freaking FAT. Compared to the rest of the world, massively so. So are many men in the USA -- and I'll give you a clue... denial will just get you fatter. |
So you would probably side with the Vatican(Catholic Cardinals/Priests) when they say nuns are hosting speakers promoting "radical feminist themes" then huh? The nuns(and women in general) should just sit down, shut up, cook, clean, etc...and obey aye?

Well, since it seems a handful of male ESL teachers know what is/isn't sexist how about looking at the Galaxy S IV? Why does Samsung need to receive gov't subsidies to compete?
"Galaxy S4 could be a wake-up call"

"Samsung Electronics new flagship Galaxy S4 smartphone could hit a snag on its home turf: subsidies offered by mobile carriers to phone buyers."
"Sales are expected to begin here next month. But given the precedents, it is highly likely the majority of consumers will take a wait-and-see attitude instead of snatching the flagship Samsung phone from stores right after its release, given the precedents."
"Even so, many Korean consumers appear cautious about purchasing the new model: Past drastic pricing tactics may have pumped up the sales, but they could boomerang this time."
Anyone with common sense would wait for the [S4] price to fall, said Kim Yoon-soo, a 34-year-old office worker who bought the S3 at its initial retail price. I have observed the price nose dive in the past months and some others buy it for almost free. But I still have to pay tens of thousands of won in monthly installments for the machine for the next 16 months.
The S3 case not only gave those users who have been loyal to the Samsung brand a sense of deprivation, but also put a long-lasting stigma on Samsung, writes a widely recognized Korean tech blogger known as Vierge."
BTW, 3 of 10 Koreans are OBESE says this Hospital study video, but being underweight isn't very healthy either. Together, with a bunch of over/underweight people you have a bunch of unhealthy people.

there's a fatal flaw with this rapport. swampfox is stating FACT and you are just spewing conjecture and assumptions based on your "pc/feminist crap".
people who think that the sexes are exactly the same make me laugh. you can't be so dense as to think men and women operate and function the same. we have different chemistries and psychologies. hell, even our bodies are different if that doesn't give you the faintest clue. this doesn't make one better or worse, just different. feminists are so bent on equality that they fail to see this.
you do realize in your little tangent of obese koreans (methinks you might be a bit on the heavy side yourself) that you are more or less saying that the seven remaining korean people are underweight and that the whole of korea seems to be just as bad as america in terms of weight health. you are very wrong. i'm not sure what orifice you are pulling this information out of, but you might want to check the source cause it seems very under-informed. and one hospital study says that three of ten koreans are obese? yeah okay. guess who has the most health problems? the obese. so logic would dictate that obese people would visit the hospital on a more frequent basis than other weight classes. this just in, bacon factory study finds that 5 out 6 of its visitors enjoy their bacon.
people like you who get bent out of shape over little things like the samsung presentation and feminists around the world do more way more bad for their own sex that they realize. use your brain a little. |
