I've been to the buffet at the Millennium Hilton a few times and have always like it. At 65,000 won per person, it's the cheapest hotel buffet. Even so, they have a good selection of foods, including freshly grilled steaks, roasts, and sausages; sushi; LA galbi and marinated lamb chops with mint jelly on the side; tons of fresh bread and cheeses; salads, including the Hilton's excellent Caesar salad; cakes, pies, real ice cream; and much more. Plus, it's got a good ambiance, being in a large open area on the top floor of the main lobby with lots of windows that overlook the city.

D'Maris is the only buffet I've been to that I still recommend. Although I recently went to an all you can eat sushi place in Jeongja that had nice salmon.

Todai and VIPS are both mediocre. Ashley's is the worst I have been. Although my wife's friend informed me last week that there are different grades of Ashley's. "W" is the best grade I believe. I think I will stick to D'Maris though as my once every few months spurge.

I have been to another a long time ago, I believe named Seven Springs, that was decent. However that was a long time ago and I don't know if it is still in Korea.

Different Ashley's feature different specials. Like I posted, the one in New Core next to the Express Bus terminal in Gangnam is the only one in Seoul that features a BBQ line with BBQ ribs and chicken.

greenworld hotel buffet by gangseogu office is the best buffet ive ever been to

smoked salmon, sushi rolls, sushi, breaded shrimp, raw beef, shellfish, much more all in a beautiful wedding hall environment with classical music playing. 15k/person. open most nights and weekends. get there at 12 or 6pm.

you can find it by searching google maps for 그린월드호텔 around gangseougu. or just tell a taxi driver

Wedding halls have really gotten their act together recently as far as buffets go. Years ago they were medicore at best. Next time your Korean friend invites you to a wedding I say check it out. If there is a buffet you may surprised by what you find there.

Green World was recently refurbished and I'm sorry to say I never ate there. Oh well, maybe next time I'm in Seoul.

I prefer VIPS to Ashley's, but my opinion may be outdated since I haven't eaten at VIPS since 2006 and I haven't eaten at Ashley's since 2011.

VIPS has the BBQ ribs in the style one would find in the USA. I had them once on an evening before watching a football game on the internet later that night and their BBQ ribs were surprisingly wonderful, almost like being in Tuscaloosa tailgaiting before a football game. The buffet comes with ribs, or a steak, or whatever entre, but it was around 36,000 won seven years ago.

Are Ashley's ribs in the style of American BBQ or Korean BBQ?

Has anyone tried the Hancook Korean buffet in Namsan tower? I was thinking of taking some people who are visiting there.

Err to each their own but I wasn't satisfied. Would rather do a la carte elsewhere.

The Foreign Restaurant is not and never has been a favorite on this forum, but I used to go there all the time.

I know you're looking for more reasonably priced buffets, but if for some reason you decide on a more expensive buffet, I'd recommend Lotte Hotel. Even though expensive, it's one of the few experiences in Korea where I can honestly say I got my money's worth and more.

As many lobster tails as you can eat, freshly made sushi, excellent salads, steak, lamb chops, more than a few foreign dishes, great desserts and real ice cream. I always end up feeling like the guy in the Monty Python skit who eats too much.

Which Lotte Hotel is this? That sounds mighty tempting.

Went to Bono Bono yesterday for dinner. It was ok, I wouldn't recommend it, especially at the 41,000 a head price. Sushi was decent, no eel though. The non-sushi offerings are below average.

It's okay I just wanted to plug Marakech and I doubt either of us expected OP to go to our recommendations. Wink

It's interesting to me that so many here don't think the hotel buffets are worth it, because my perspective is exactly opposite: I think they're great! I've been to the hotel buffets at the Grand Hyatt (twice), JW Marriott, W Hotel, Westin Chosun, Sheraton (Songdo), and Ritz Carlton. They certainly are expensive, which is why I only go twice a year or so on special occasions like my birthday, Christmas, and so on. For the price though, you get a huge selection of top-quality food that is always fresh (never sitting in a steam table for a long time, getting cold and terrible). Definitely worth it Very Happy

American style ribs, in the Ashley's in New Core next to Gangnam Express Bus terminal. When you get there, half of the floor is taken up with seating for the Ashley's restaurant. There are many Koreans who eat there, too.

If you've never been to Ashley's, you can order drinks and dishes off the menu, but just say you want the buffet. The BBQ line is at the end of the serving line, just past the ice cream. Those ribs sure tasted good after going so long without them. And if you know the outrageous prices for ribs, in Korea, then you'll understand that it's a great deal. There are two other Ashley's with BBQ included but they are not in Seoul. http://www.myashley.co.kr/Bd/Shop/List.aspx?ViewMode=store&ShopType=BBQ

Don't forget about the Brazilian buffets, especially my new favorite Tabom in Itaewon, just down the street from the Hamilton Hotel. The meal costs 29,000 but you get great food.

La Seine topped all that I went to during my time in Seoul.

The Renaissance Hotel in Seoul has an outdoor beer garden that runs from April 1 to Oct. 31 this year. It's 39,500 won per person and that includes BBQ buffet and drinks from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m.

I agree with the Brazilian places. Carne Do Brazil (Itaewon and Gangnam) and Copacabana (Itaewon) are also great.
