The guys who import Ballast Point are going to be bringing in SCULPIN in DRAFT!!! That's a beer that gets a 100% rating and it's going to be in Korea...on draft...

I saw this on a "best of" list last week and picked up a bottle from an import store on my way home the other night. Totally lived up to the rating/hype. Awesome IPA and I can't wait to try it on tap.

Yeah. According to a friend who would know better, the Sculpin in bottle is good, but it's filtered: i.e., even at a low filtering level, a lot of the hop oils are stripped.

So, if we get it in draft, unpasteurized...dear god, it should be amazing.

Any ideas who might pick it up? Very Happy

This is where I used to go for my wine. Won't find any of the stuff here in grocery stores

I'm not a wine buff by any means but I don't get this. If a wine was good why wouldn't it get sold in more stores/supermarkets than an indifferent one?

Distribution, mass-production, marketing, contracts with firms. Most people buying grocery store wine are either exploratory buyers or they are just getting something for the sake of something, or they are buying a famous brand that everyone else recommneds (Fat Bastard, Yellowtail, Mondavi).

I was the same. Then one day a friend dragged me to that place. It was like going from Busch Light to microbrew.

In terms of variety anyway, Korea has it - just in the wrong way. Beer is the most obvious example. Emart and LotteMart boast their "world beer centers", but it's really just 100 different crappy pilsners with a couple browns and weisens mixed in. Want a good ale? Want to taste a hop? Forget it. However, I've learned this is the case throughout much of the world.

Yes I imagine some good wines are not sold in supermarkets due to the reasons you mentioned above and some indifferent wines aren't either. Just as there are probably some good wines and bad wines in supermarkets.
