Hi again everyone!

Just to update, I actually went with the position in Incheon. I just mailed my documents yesterday. I am really excited, nervous, and scared to start a new chapter of my life in Korea! Having lived abroad before, I know these jitters will pass once I get used to living there.

After speaking to the foreign teacher at the school in Gunpo, I realized the position wasn't really for me. The school didn't have materials to work with, meaning I would have had to improvise everything. I didn't think this would be a good idea for someone who has never taught before. (I have only done private tutoring).

Another factor that influenced my decision to live in Incheon, was that one of my close Korean friends lives in that province. It's nice to be close to someone I know.

With all that said, I want to thank everyone for their input! You were all very helpful! Very Happy

This is very, very unusual - in fact, I think you may have been misled (unless you are talking about some sort of after-school program?)

Every elementary school in Korea has to follow a curriculum provided by the government. As such, there is a textbook and a computer software CD to work with - improvisation is necessary only when one wishes to change a certain activity within the curriculum.

In any case, good luck - you may yet be placed in a better part of Incheon!
