Is there any one spot in Itaewon where these evil taxi drivers are congregating? Some of us would prefer to avoid getting ripped off.

The stretch between the new B One and the front of the Hamilton Hotel shopping center/KFC is the worst place by far. I work late nights/early mornings in Itaewon, and often just agree to pay so I can get the F out of there.

A 2,500 cab ride from Itaewon to the upper Kyungnidan area will often run me 10K, and the dudes will still huff and puff about having to navigate the back streets.

The best option is to just snag a deluxe cab, at least for relatively short distances.

Yeah, the guy who tried to overcharge me was in front of the Hamilton.

I just avoid getting taxi's in the busy part of Itaewon. Even if they are charging you fairly, getting out of that area can be a pain in the butt. I normally walk towards Noksapyeong (or the other way) and normally have no problems.

And Sinchon is probably the worse when it comes to refusal of service. And the jerks lock their doors too
