A non efficient unit can have even less, but most aircons should have higher. A cheapo one will have close to 2 (probably or less) at higher temperatures.
I don't know how to compare that for the summer time, but the equ. SCOP/COP for the winter is directly comparable to kWh from gas. So COP 3+ means that it is cheaper to use electricity vs. gas even if electricity is almost 3x more expensive.
The A/C uses most power to cool down - to keep it cool, it takes a lot less energy on average, per hour. 300kW however just for the A/C is BLOODY high. I use that much for the A/C in a much hotter place than Korea. A very high end A/C though and the place is better insulated compared to typical housing in Korea  |
