The one instance where I know there are "term limits" is with Chinese citizens. They must leave the country after renewing once. |

So I'm thinking of doing some traveling on my breaks here but was a little concerned about the whole re-entry thing. After reading this thread I get the idea that as a US citizen, with an E-2 visa, that has a nice capital 'M' under entries, I can pretty much come and go as I please. Is this right or do I still have to fill out additional paperwork or anything along those lines? |

As an USA citizen you automatically get a multiple entry visa when you get a work visa. Check your passport to be sure.
If you have a multiple visa, there should not be much else you need to do form wise. Enjoy Traveling....

I am leaving my public school job and my new employer just told me that I will have to exit Korea to get a new E2. (grrrr; I thought I remembered that the law changed.)
I have been told that FUKUOKA is cheapest place to get visa - I guess the flights to Fukuoka are considerably cheaper than Osaka (this is my expense - it's a uni I'm going to) - but that it may take 2 days to get the visa. Will I spend just as much anyway on an overnight?
RECENT EXPERIENCE TO SHARE?
Advice?
Thanks

Can i ask what documents are required to renew an E2 visa? I am planning on going to China soon and need my passport to get the Chinese visa. Furthermore, my current E2 visa expires in 2 weeks so I'm wondering how long it will take to renew visa.
Thanks in advance. |

If you are renewing at the SAME place of employment you simply take your new contract, passport, ARC and guarentee letter from your employer down to immigration.
Fill in an application form, pay 80k won (30k for the renewal and 50k for your re-entry permit). In and out in 30 minutes or so. |

Some hakwons might pay for the visa costs but that would be unusual.
In a public school it is policy to NOT PAY the renewal costs at immigration.

Hello, I've been working in a school in Jeollanam-do for nearly 2 years, but have decided I fancy a change for my third year, and want to move to a new area altogether. Do I need to provide a new Criminal Background Check to the chosen area's immigration office? And does it have to be from my country, or is it possible to obtain one from the Korean police which will suffice?
Thanks for any help! |
