Kinda gotta agree with Dodge. In a culture that gives us UFC and action movies, and where if the words "yo they're fighting" causes everyone to leave their table to go watch, what do you expect? Now there are a few law and order, sober, upright moral types out there who aren't being hypocrites about this, kudos to them, they can wag their fingers.
And who knows why the dudes were fighting? Maybe the other dude did something really vile and deserved more than a simple punch to the jaw. Maybe it was business and it was about sending a message.
Or maybe the guy is a psychotic loser. Either way, I don't know why things went down, so I can't judge until I do. |

Brutal. The guy kicking him is scum, as are the people filming. No surprise to hear North American accents on those morons |
While I will leave off the nationalistic and snobbish remark regarding where the people who took the video are from, I will say I find it more disturbing and rather embarrassing that these foreigners thought it was cool to...you know...walk around taking a video of themselves at an atm, and even more so they video a guy using an atm.
We are cool! |

Really? Wow...
For starters, how about have some decency and NOT laugh about it! It's NOT funny to see a guy getting soccer kicked in the face repeatedly when he's practically unconscious anyway. Then, how about NOT put the camera in the guys bloodied face and keep laughing about it! How about that? Too much to ask?
Then, if possible, maybe grow a pair and make sure a guy isn't getting pummeled more than necessary. The fight was basically over and the guy had lost and was getting kicked in the face repeatedly, with maybe more to come. The guys were obviously new to Korea and probably didn't know about the shady law system here, so common decency should have kicked in to maybe stand between the two or something, or at the very least show some kind of concern... but instead they chose to film it for pure entertainment, laughing about it all the way through. Disgusting. Of all the possible responses, theirs was likely the lowest anyone could think of. |

If you're fine with watching someone get soccer kicked in the head repeatedly, well what can I say? I generally would judge that because in most cases it's over the line in a fight. I know you'll probably say maybe the guy did something awful to deserve it, but on the other hand, maybe he was completely innocent too.
I'm also judging them laughing about it as though it's comedy. I don't know why things went down either, but my first reaction would NOT be to laugh as though it were hilarious. I think that's BS behavior on both counts and have no problem saying so. I hope I'm not in the minority on this. |

So youre suggesting (outside of laughing which I agree with) that they get involved. Cool I figured youd say that.
So next time you see an incident like this why dont you be Super Weigook and get into an altercation with the guy, only for the Gangnam Style cops to throw you in jail. You can then make your "paging ttompatz" thread about how youre being screwed by the police because "they sided with the Korean even though I was just trying to help." Ill be here, after youve been dragged through the mud to say: told you so.
We got a hero on our hands folks. |

More heroic than you, judging from your response.
Maybe you should be careful about throwing around the 'beta' tag so much; you might be projecting a bit. I'm guessing the smoking hot gf would have jumped in before you ever would. Wouldn't want to tear your knock off designer suit, right?
I agree that the law is against us here, but that doesn't mean nothing can ever be done. There is a point where decency mandates some kind of help. If you notice in the video, people did eventually go over there to prevent further damage, even if nobody strong-armed the attacker. I'm guessing you wouldn't have been among them though. |

His dress, posture, and speech all suggest a native Korean.
A stereotypical LA kyopo wannabe gangsta would be probably be with his boys, and drop 10 N bombs while beating the guy. He also wouldn't be carrying a cell phone that looks 5 years old.

There are times for honorable and fair fights and there are times when its not about fighting fair, but sending a message or conducting business. Fight vs. beatdown.
If this was in the course of business or revenge for something truly awful then, a couple of head kicks, meh.
Maybe the guy tried to diddle the dude's kid sister. Maybe he owed massive amounts of money to loansharks. Maybe he just ran up a 4million won tab at some hostess bar and skipped out. Maybe he punched one of the girls at the hostess bar. Maybe they were both in gangs and the one dude was in the wrong territory. Or they had had beef before. If he did something where he knew the penalty would likely be a beatdown, then he got what was coming to him. Different from a fight.
Or the guy who beat him up is a complete sociopath.

Not saying that they aren't in the wrong, but at least they aren't hypocrites.
========================================================
Amateur detective hour time. The guy who beat the dude looked like he'd done that before. The guy who got beat seemed to not be overly outraged over the beating. Sorta like he knew what was coming. He also didn't seem to be offering any kind of sympathy story. I'm guessing that when the police showed up, he wasn't going to press charges and wouldn't tell the whole story about why it went down. Innocent victims tend to be more hysterical and animated and usually try to garner sympathy from people or at least respond to them. Of course he could be in pure shock, but it didn't seem like it.
My guess- two lowlifes were somehow in contact with each other. |

SR, when you make up stats and stories to back up your outrageous claims on other threads it's not so bad because we're just talking about ideas.
But this is the second time in a couple of weeks where you have defended brutal attacks because the victim 'probably deserved it'. I think coming from that perspective is indicative of a very problematic mind. I'm not saying this to be mean or to go after you because we often disagree. I've often said you're probably a nice guy in person. But if you see an almost unconscious guy lying in the road getting brutally kicked in the face repeatedly and think, "Whatever, he probably deserves it" then I think you have something wrong in your head. And that goes for anyone here defending those actions (and the jerks in the video). The normal response when seeing another human being getting brutally attacked would be empathy and outrage. Not a laundry list of excuses and a shrug.
Anyway, I'm not looking to get into one of your 19 page fights here and don't want a 94 paragraph rebuttal. You've said enough already and absolutely no amount of explanation would change that. This isn't about logic or debate. This is about your reaction to brutality, and you've said more than enough already. |

Wait. Didn't SR, just a few days ago, point to the prevalence of violence in the west as a mark of uncivilized behavior? Yes. Yes he did; in his rebuttal to a post on the 'spitting' thread.
And now he's defending violence on behalf of Koreans because a guy 'may have deserved it'?
'May have' = 'right to violence' ? |

Lol @ "stalking".
I was responding to your personal attack in the form of "we have a hero here folks."
Getting the cops called on you. What a beta. |

The kicks to the head were low, and especially dangerous. Easy way to land yourself in jail with a manslaughter/murder charge.
Videos can be deceptive. We don't know what went down just prior to this, so it's hard to say exactly where justice lies. I'm just glad that the crowd eventually moved in before someone was killed. |
