Korea complains about racial discrimination in Japan but lacks anti-discrimination laws to protect its own minority groups.

"The Seoul government issued a statement that it strongly wished the ruling would help stop racial discrimination and other activities against ethnic Koreans."

That was sort of funny. Did you confuse "haberdashery" with balderdash?

You don't know this meaning? It means "nonsense".

Haberdashery is urban for "nonsense".

So many haters. I'm getting criticized for not paragraphing? Didn't know I was being critiqued by a bunch of "Grammar Nazis". I guess I'm the only idealist among this group. Are you all really happy with capitalism? Yes, America is the model. Wages have been stagnant for the last three decades. A CEO three decades ago made 30 times his workforce. Today, it's 300 times. Some CEO's make 3000 times. Capitalism promotes greed. It promotes winning at all cost. We become expendable for being good workers because corporate America doesn't want to give us a salary bump. It's the same in Korea. It bought this model hook, line, and sinker. You may want to live in that world but I know I don't. Last time I checked, democracy worked pretty well. Imagine that! Everyone gets a vote and everyone shares in the profits. Believe it or not, there are profitable companies that practice the democratic model. I'm sorry, "Grammar Nazis". My grammar is so bad, you don't understand. Maybe my topic is above your pay grade.
Haberdashery! It means "nonsense". Sorry my vocabulary is too large.

For the record Rollo, I did a tad better than a third rate university. And yes, I left Korea but didn't go home. Went to another country that treats its employees with a bit more respect. As for my degree, M.A. in TESL, Ph.D in Cultural Anthropology. And thanks for your wicked sense of humor. I expected educators here but I guess I got something far less.
If someone replies back saying "country that treats" is anthropomorphic, get a life!!

For Christ's sake man. You had the chance to check your facts and you still ballsed it up.

Haberdashery might just become a Dave's meme now. Good job.

Touche for providing that link, but a minor quibble is that it is hardly 'urban' slang - which is what I found so amusing. I can't imagine many kids in inner cities saying "What is the meaning of this haberdashery?!?"

Good point CJ.
It's used in my hood but it looks nothing like an inner city.

I don't mind being proved wrong, so I will tip my hat to you, sir. However, I think the point being made is that your post was essentially a denigrating assessment of Korean society and their inability to act 'properly'.
The superior tone of it comes across as quite ironic when it is delivered so poorly. Whatever validity your points may have had was overshadowed by the sheer difficulty in understanding it.
In short, you were asking for people to take the piss.

Point taken CJ. Went off on a rant after sending Camp Korea a personal email accusing them of discriminatory practices. Didn't spend time prewriting, editing a first draft, having it peer reviewed etc.

No, but honestly, I am not particularly happy with hysterical, self-entitled egalitarianism either. Man expressing genuine compassion and concern can be beautiful, but man angrily stamping his foot while demanding what he thinks he is owed simply by force of his existing is an ugly thing.

Apart from all the haberdashery (thank you for enlightenening me btw, i thought it meant 'the frilly bits' and stick on stuff for crafts) and stifeling, i do think the op has a (convoluted) point. I was just sent an email by a recruiter and id say of 50 jobs, 80% of them requested an american female or just female (with an additional preference of an educational degree).
It looks quite faddish and if this trend continues, id say it is going to become more difficult for the boys to find work in the big cities for the time being (until the fad followers find a new distraction).
