Lady was walking her two dogs in the park. The one on the right got off the leash....

Without going into details I think you can use your imagination as to what happened next. |

First off, do not listen to a word Lucas says. Secondly, as I recall, the statement of no pets is not in the EPIK contract but in one of the supplementary forms you have to fill out and sign. Just leave that spot blank so you do not lie. |
That stunt is dishonest and, when caught, will get you fired, especially if you have brought the critter with you.

It is okay to have your dog in Korea, it does not get stressed that much. |
It's not okay if you've contractually agreed not to have the dog. Again: do not be dishonest.

Your problem will be orientation and I would suggest finding a good pet hotel if you have to endure that requirement. |
Why would it be a problem if there's no dishonesty in your suggested stunt? Quit giving bad advice, Thiessen.

Having a dog here is a big plus and you will encounter many problems as Korea is not totally dog friendly but those problems can be overcome with a little planning and flexibility. |
A little planning and flexibility being defined as beginning the journey with dishonest stunts? Yeah, right.
Yes, it can be wonderful to have a pet. The thing is, the current EPIK rules prohibit pets. Signing onto EPIK includes that last bit. If the OP wants to have a pet in Korea, they need to first find their own accommodations, which will be a pretty nifty trick to pull off if they've never been to Korea before. |

That might work as my daughter will be coming to visit in the summer.
Thank you so much! |
Your daughter? Don't let her go to any bath houses by herself. We had an older woman like yourself that lost a son to murder in a bathouse a few years ago. |
And don't forget about that other lady whose tiny dog was eaten by an elderly Korean couple in a park. |
What on earth are you guys talking about? |
You probably weren't in-country when Michael White was murdered in a Korean bath house. The kid was 14 I think. Just be careful Beth.

No you are wrong again. Cali's whole post is completely wrong and you can ignore him. He is not a lawyer and he cannot give out any legal or contractural advice.
By giving out legal advice he violates the law because he does not have a law license nor has he passed the Korean bar.
The best thing to do is tell your recruiter you want to bring your dog and he or she will guide you on how best to proceed with EPIK.
BUT DO NOT fill in that spot or you have committed yourself. |

It's legal to give out law advice without a law degree. It may not be advisable to follow said law advice, however. |

No one said a person had to a have a law degree we are talking about giving legal advice and I have not found one statute that permits that action without a license.
so please post the statutes (in English) that support your point. |

If you can't find someone to take care of your dog for one year or you decide you want to bring it to Korea with you there are things you need to know.
HOUSING: The problem isn't with the school regarding having pets. You need to confirm that the housing they are providing will accept pets. This comes down to the owner of the dwelling. Make sure 100% that they will permit your dog to stay there otherwise you could find yourself with a big problem of trying to find someone to take care of your dog or moving into your own place. This will require a big deposit and some help if you don't know what you are doing.
COSTS: Your dog is small enough to fly in the cabin. It will only cost about $200 to $300 to fly it over. Not very expensive.
KOREAN QUARANTINE: There are a number of rules you have to follow for your dog to be permitted to enter Korea. Please refer to this website for the details. The costs do add up.

RETURNING TO YOUR HOME COUNTRY: Each country has their own different restrictions.
GOOD LUCK!!! |
