IIRC, from what I've heard, she is very much like George W. Bush in that she can come off as really dumb and make some really bad pronounciation mistakes.
And Reagan was called dumb because he was regarded as a ditz who had to be educated on countless things when he first become President (Funny ancedote: They had to a "International Relations 101" course for his first couple years to catch him up. He demanded they all made movies out of the reports so alot of his foreign policy meetings involved him watching a video for most of it). Actually, alot of Presidents and Politicians aren't exactly the brightest bulbs but (a.) They are charismatic as hell and (b.) They have aids or advisors that pretty much do the brainy stuff and they execute it. From my understanding, Clinton had a similar reputation.
Apparently the one President that apparently is regarded as underratedly smart was George W. Bush. He wasn't a policy wonk, but apparently he's one of those guys who can remember exact details of a conversation or a report from a long time ago with no problems. Useful when reviewing data or when he has to go to negotiations or meet people. Apparently his problem was that he was a bit too easily persuaded by certain forces rather easily (IE Darth Cheney). |

Interesting. I had often heard Jimmy Carter had a high IQ but it's as if he had too much information and couldn't make up his mind and goverened in a dumb way though I suppose he did a couple of good things. |
