I spent my first 2-3yrs in seoul just doing my work in cafes on my lapto - i went to cheongdam/apgujeong bcos they're rich areas so most ppl spk better english and have travelled more (which in my eyes i felt meant they were more open minded).
Raina was just reading a book next to my table and we got to chatting, it was pretty sad to hear abt the life of a kpop star tbh and was told that she wasn't allowed to make friends outside of kpop, so we just grab tea every now and again when her management arent around.
Sunye approached me and bought us lunch and was planning her wedding at the time... Very cool girl.
The rest i met at parties and later they wanted to hang out... Obviously no kiss and tell on here but fun times.
As for my job, im a designer (branding) and i also model + dj. I used to work in esl but 3yrs ago got an entertainment visa. Not sure how to post pics on here otherwise i'd give u a peek ^^ |

I met 이훈 a few times in 2009. I was a member of his gym in Bulgwang-dong. I was there for 6 months and I might have saw him about 4 times.
I remember the day I met him. I walked out of the female locker room and this man said hello to me (in Korean). I just looked at him and kept on walking. I found out later that night that he was the person who owned the gym. I didn't know who he was though so I didn't try to speak to him, take a picture or get his autograph.
He seemed really nice. He was just working out in the gym and there wasn't anyone crowded around him for autographs or anything. I never tried to speak to him because I didn't know if he spoke any English and I couldn't speak Korean. |

Well tbh in Korea, it's not uncommon to run into a celeb or two at fashion show/party or other high profile event. On the street or in a cafe is just luck |

It also helps if you're a tall black dude with dreadlocks who speaks in a charming British accent. |

Tbh i have no idea who SS is but they know what i look and sound like so its fair to say we know each other. I wouldn't be surprised if quite a few people on Dave's knew each other though. |

Ohh ok... ^.^
So do you mind if i ask. Are there ever opportunities where you do get to meet people who are not really from you area or have never met before? or is it just by chance you'd get the opportunity to meet them. |

I'm not quite sure what you mean by this - are you referring to my area of work?
As I said earlier, I don't watch tv so wouldn't know a Korean celebrity if they randomly passed by. In terms of where you can meet them - they often show up to flagship store opening events (Gucci, C/Dior etc) but if you want a chance to meet them in a public space, have dinner and drinks at Banyan Tree resort or Shilla Hotel or JJ's (lounge at the Hyatt hotel). One of the most popular daytime celeb hangout spots is 10 Corso Como, I have been there quite a bit (it has an art gallery/restaurant/bar and doubles as an art/fashion/book store) it's not cheap but worth checking out at least once though. |

You mean are there opportunities for people to get off their computers and actually go outside and meet people in real life?

back in the day i used to work at a very well known photo studio that handled a good deal of the victoria secrets shoots. people like miranda kerr (and subsequently orlando bloom and her awful dog) were in there all the time as well as all sorts of random celebrities and famous photographers.
as you could guess, most of the models aren't that attractive until makeup and photoshop are involved, and the ones that are attractive naturally are incredibly vapid and not fun to be around.
you'd think this would have lessened my enjoyment of dating models... |
