Thank you 3DR~ Lazio, if you do drive frequently now or in the future, I do hope
you don't face a similar situation, but there's a good chance you will. I'm
all about letting drivers over into my lane specially on that rare occasion that a
turn signal is given and I make a special effort to let them in wether it be
a semi, a bus or a common sedan. And 8 times outta 10, they won't remain
in your lane as they are simply sweating and trying to make it to the far
left lane to turn.
Personally, I LOVE cruising. Window down, going the speed limit, arm hang'n
out the window with Tom Petty or Blues Traveler or Rascal Flatts or even 015B
blasting from my meek speakers. But if I must, I will drive down route 88 through Seoul like a taxi
driver or a KNP officer late for his mid-afternoon nap in his cruiser! haha |

I like the chick who's parked illegally in a crosswalk at 8:30 and gets garbage thrown on her car. Wonder if she got a ticket for that parking job. |
All the driving accidents are due to stupidity, and avoidable for the person at fault. Driving to fast, following too close, being too old, being drunk...
Don't think that parking job is considered illegal here. Actually, I don't think any parking job is really illegal, unless the pope is in town. Then you'd probably get your car towed, and you'll have a heck of a time trying to tracky our car down from whatever city agency that towed it. |

I do believe that parking in a cross walk is illegal - whether it is enforced or not is another matter. |

Lazio and 3DR are both right. The right lane has right of way over the merge lane, but it's also a dick move for people to not let you merge. In defense of the drivers who didn't let you merge, they're probably just jaded from being in Korea. The same thing has happened to me in regard to elevators. You know how you try to be a gentleman to the ladies and a bro to other gentlemen by holding the elevator doors open so they won't shut on a person who is hustling but can't quite get there in time? You can't be a gentleman or a bro in Korea or China because if you hold the door open for them, when the elevator makes it to the next floor, they'll haul ass to get off first and get the number card from the bank or wherever before you, making you have to wait longer. Anywhere other than China and Korea, over 90% of people reciprocate the courtesy instead of trying to get one over. I no longer do it in Korea or China. So I can totally relate to the jerks who wouldn't let you merge since I've become the same way. It's not how I was brought up, but it's what has become of me until I leave. When I leave, I'll revert back to living up to the Easy-E nickname folks call me, but until then I'm Hardass-E pushing the "close door" button. |
