Kindness is viewed as weakness here, it will only get you stomped on.

Koreans don't recognize kindness, they've never seen it before.

You guys live in some kind of English teacher alternate reality though.

Perhaps there is something about you that makes kind people keep their distance?

I agree with this. You must be given off serious negative vibes. I've had tons of koreans spontaneously help me with stuff.

I wouldn't want to be beholden to the work culture/societal rules but in general they are lovely people.

We asked a question about kindness and if we understand what that is. Personally I don't. I have ideas. One of these ideas tells me it must include empathy. The mind is so contradictory that it includes various opposing urges. One of these has the element of kindness, I suppose. And what is the other? To be violent? There is also that in us. So, if we understand that, then maybe the other can occur.

On a less intellectual note, kindness is simple, and includes small things. Hold the door open or give up a seat. You know, stuff normal people do.

Nope, Koreans are straight arrow. You need to goto Itaewon in order to find weirdos.

I think its fairly simple to identify kindness.

Considering others before yourself.
Treating others equitably.
Being generous.
Doing nice unto others without thought of personal reward.
Etc.
It brings out the best in others too.

Ever notice how people with kind dispositions project an attractive face, whatever physical features they've been dealt? No amount of plastic surgery, cosmetics, or "witty" self-assurance can mask a mean spirit.

Anyone can resolve to become a kinder person starting today.

You've never met a Korean oddball in Korea?

Nope. In my years spent in Seoul, I was approached by a random oddball on the subway, once. Koreans are very normal, if they have weirdnesses they certainly don't broadcast it publicly.

I've got to agree with Chap, Koreans seem to confuse kindness with weakness. This is especially true in the work environment. This isn't to say that Koreans are unable to be kind, just that they value it less than where I'm from.
I've often discussed this with Korean friends and they tend to express these sentiments before I do.

Laughing at KN calling other people oddballs.

You know nothing about Koreans. Everything you say goes against my Korean family and everybody they know as well. Or could it be something else that drives you?

Same here being a member of a Korean family. KN doesn't know much about Koreans.
