Wow that's the first I ever heard of something like that.

There is a paper trail that can be followed. Some editors and writers are right out in the open. Some just can't resist putting their name on the illegal work they do. That's what I find so surprising. I'm sure publishing companies and other business have plenty of foreigners without proper documentation and visas on record.
