Korean mannerisms I find hard-wired now when I visit "home":

Bowing (the perfunctory head nod kind) on greeting someone.
Handing something to someone with my right hand.
Breaking off eye contact after a second or two.
The shoes thing.

Think those were the only two I ever did, and just in the beginning, along with handing a 'superior' something with both hands. Oh yeah, and drinking like a demon, people would be on the second sip of their beer and I'd have already downed mine.

I still do the head nod thing, sometimes I do the handing things with two hands bit, and I do take my shoes off when entering my house (but then again shouldn't everyone really be doing this everywhere?)

When I first got home the only awkward thing- which only lasted a short time- was that I sometimes gave the wrong bills at stores (maybe this happened twice) because I had gotten used to each denomination looking different in Korea.

I've asked for it at Korean restaurants in the States and then I get pissed when they bring me Sprite. It's just not the same!

Agreed. Sprite tastes better.

Your video title is misleading especially since youre just plugging your own youtube page with this lame attempt at humor. I know tons of foreigners who dont fall prey to this kind of behavior when visiting their home countries.

Everyone in this video should take a long walk off a short bridge, you included.

The biggest problem I had when I went home was ignoring or dodging questions from people close to me, as if answering them honestly would result in some kind of conflict. For example, when my friends asked me to go out that night, I pretended that I couldn't understand the question.

Please tell me you are keeping a diary, with the intent of publishing/performing these.
Comedy genius...really.

Thanks Cosmic, if I did perform these you might be the only one in the audience. My friends didn't find it all that funny.

Wow another Korean expat ragging on content creators in Korea...or just a bored troll. Probably a mix of both.

I've typically found that unless you have a website dedicated towards pointing out everything bad about Korea, you are a waygook sell out in many eyes. What's funny is that these people create nothing of value and continue to mope in their averageness and failure.

Sad.

It's too sweet for me, but to each their own.

Ahh yes the old "troll excuse" because I pointed that it was lame humor and because everyone isnt like this. Since its posted on a public forum as well as a public video sharing page, I like anyone else can comment on it as I see fit. If it actually pointed out many bad points about Korea I would be all for it, however a lot of these things are a cultural issue. I realize its hard for you to understand that, so im going to take your comment about trolling and waygook sellouts as simple ignorance. Have a good day buddy.

Aren't you very sensitive? Don't be so sensitive, if you are so sensitive over a bit of advice, how do you think the OP feels when you dish out advice to her, all I did, was suggest the same to you as you did to her, except, she can take it and you obviously cannot. Crying or Very sad

Ah yes. The old "it's a public forum" tirade. I'm not inhibiting you from posting on a public forum, I'm just pointing out at how dumb your post is. You have a good day too. Very Happy

In all fairness, you are doing the same thing that you have always done on this board. Have a good day and be safe out there.
