I think it's sad we consider ourselves "lucky" that the mods allows us to ask questions. It's also sad that they haven't actually answered my questions. So again I ask -
What comments in the K-pop thread were considered personal insults?
If a poster has made racist comments, been warned about those racist comments, and then mentions the evils of racism, is it a personal attack to highlight the irony of that situation?
If a poster consistently lies in a thread is a personal insult to highlight how much lying the poster is doing?
And finally, can you see the hypocrisy of you posting about "not engaging in ad-hominem attacks" while a fellow moderator refers to a poster as "a sad little boy crying for attention" in the post above yours? |

How can I disagree with something I don't understand?
I've asked 4 questions on this thread and right now there are no answers due to the thread being moderated to within an inch of its life.
Ironically the only personal attack that remains is by you. |

Seriously, I'm a nice guy. No idea why earthquake is even thinking about me. I can't recall a time when I quoted him. I only post at most once or twice a day though. |

Not to speak for earthquakes, but you come off is a snidey little bitch sometimes. You come in and make snippy comments with no back up whatsoever. Most of the other apologists will stand and fight a point. You will repond with something sounding like a middle aged menopausal woman and then backdown like the little bitch you are. |

We get a ton of reports form people not wanting to read the insults and whatnot posted by a few posters on this site. We have tried to advise posters to respond to a post and not the poster, but some people feel the need to defend their points of view at all costs.
The Mods generally do not spend too much time monitoring the site. We just check the Reported Posts link at the bottom of our page and check the post in question. Usually, there are multiple reports about the same post. We then pull the post in a separate forum for review by the entire Mod Team. If we deem the post a violation of the TOS, it will not be returned. Sometimes, a public warning is warranted to try and send multiple posters the same message. No one is here "defending Korean apologists" or any other conspiracy like that. We simply want a chat forum where all opinions are respected.

In that case I would like to know why I was warned against personal attacks on the K-pop thread. I was dealing with points raised by another poster and stated nothing but facts. Which particular parts of my posts were reported? |
The "Steelrails lie #3234556" parts were a little over the top. Your posts became less about K-pop and more about going after SR. We got multiple reports about the thread being derailed by these posts. Plus, discussing Mod Team decisions is a violation of the TOS. We discussed with SR why he was sanctioned and that should have been the end of that. You really have no business bringing that up. If you disagree with him fine; just try to keep it civil.

So despite Steelrails making a racist comment, then receiving a warning regarding that comment, and Steelrails admitting this happened, I am not allowed to mention it.
So if I call him a racist is that a personal attack, despite me being able to prove he made racist comments? |
The problem is that you interpreted the warning in an incorrect way. A discussion with Steelrails was held and we looked at the context of the post.
Again, if you are calling someone a racist, you are responding to the poster and not the post. Steelrails, in the eyes of the Mod Team, was not using the terms he used in a racist way. He was, in an ill-advised way, attempting to be humorous in emphasizing his point. We addressed it, and he accepted our position. Personally, I do not see how you can get that SR is a racist based on the context of his comments.
Like Cosmic Hum said, this is becoming time-consuming. I hope we have come close to an understanding of each other, as I hope to spend very little time cleaning up on this site.

I didn't call steelrails a racist. What I wrote was -
"Although your attempts to bring up racism are particularly amusing considering you have been warned about your racism on this very site."
"No. Your warning was because of your attempt to erroneously paint a poster/posters as racist bigots. But the sad fact was that you were the only person using racist language, and as a result you received a warning."
Where are the personal insults? I can prove everything that I've written above happened. If you said we were going off topic, then I could understand that. But you've said that they're personal attacks.
And finally, can you see the hypocrisy of you posting about "not engaging in ad-hominem attacks" while a fellow moderator refers to a poster as "a sad little boy crying for attention" in the post above yours? |

Man, leave it alone. We've all had our say to the mods, at times going close to the boundary line. I wouldn't keep at Koharski if I were you. He or she has been patient and many of us appreciate that. Don't keep on with the issue.
Looking at Steel Rails' posts since then, he/she is making an effort to be less combative in their posts. So let it be. You write some really good posts and should focus on that instead of pushing this issue again with the mods. |

Yeah, I guess you're right. It kinda bugs me when a mod calls me out for personal attacks but can't give me any examples. And the hypocrisy of the mod then personally attacking a poster also bugs me.
But you're right. There's nothing more to be gained here so I'll get over it and move on.
