I hope they give the drivers training on steering higher center of gravity buses.
I don't know why they just don't use the longer articulated buses. For one, buses with stairs doesn't make a lot of sense when you're serving an older population. And then they'll start touting the double-decker buses as tourist attractions and calling Seoul the London of Asia. |

It's going to be a disaster. Hopefully they'll get more training before they cut them loose.

Driver training is a good idea. The centre of gravity on a double decker bus is not as high as many people think. It is very rare for a double decker to tip over due to driver error, although if anyone can do it I'm sure Korean bus drivers can do it.
Articulated buses are actually being phased out in London due to higher instances of accidents. I'd agree that younger people should be encouraged to sit upstairs in order to give elderly people priority over easy access seats. |

Back to the topic. Koreans are now studying Mandarin more than before despite traditional Korean wariness of China and Chinese, yet I've been reading that unless you're a native speaker of Chinese, the language won't help all that much in business and work.
Plus I'm wondering what will happen to Korean real estate given that rich Chinese are buying up properties worldwide and raising the cost of living as a result. |

The bus stops that I frequent now have dedicated lines and instructions to leave gaps. Few have the nerve to break in line these days. |

Nope. In fact there was a report on them on Korean TV news.
I guess it all depends on where you live and how smart you are. If the stop I went to was the scrum being described here, I'd wise up and walk to the stop either before or after it. |

Right now there are so many Chinese going abroad, to go shopping, whether in Seoul or Tokyo, or other places. |

I'm not saying it's useless but perhaps it's overrated and such. Knowing basic phrases and expressions are helpful but will it land you a great job and such other than in the tourist industry, which is notorious for low wages, high stress and long hours?

It varies widely from location to location. For example, at the bus stops at Sadang station, people line up in a disciplined manner. At Yatap station, it's a free for all. |

China is a pretty big country. They don't all act that way do they?
Comparatively, Korea is miniscule when it comes to Asian populous countries, yet they have a propensity for being poor travelers.
Are all of them that way? Nope. Much like Chinese where K's took most of their manners/thoughts from.
