| There's a great sense of excitement to living like that, one that I really appreciated in my twenties. In my mid-thirties it's losing its appeal and it's just not so much of a rush to be flying by the seat of my pants all the time. Do i ever want the stability to come? I don't know, really. |

weird thing is that I am only super impulsive when it comes to big decisions. Move to Asia on a dime but agonize over an itemized grocery list...m'eh.... |

| The day before I left, my parents had to leave to drive my brother up to college, so I took an airport bus the day before and stayed in a hotel ready to fly out in the morning. It was a very weird combination of feelings. Total relief cause the last week had been very hectic saying goodbye and driving back and forth to Toronto to get my Visa and plane ticket. It was also the first time I had to really ponder that I was doing this alone. This was a weirdly cool feeling and I didn't feel the loneliness I had expected. I was actually really excited. Some friends came to my hotel room for a goodbye drink and then I was off. After that, it's all a blur of airplanes, running around for buses, and then actually standing in my new apartment. All in all a very strange 48 hours that have worked out wonderfully! |

| I was excited, but due to my familiarity with Dave's ESL Cafe, I had a lot of apprehension about crazy Koreans and crooked bosses, 95% of which proved to be unfounded! Thanks, Dave's! Ya bunch of losers. |

I felt not much really.
I was sick from drinking my farewells away and had just been in Japan so actually the prospect of another 12 hour flight pissed me off a bit as I hate flying.
Also leaving Brisbane in 30 degree heat and landing in Seoul in minus 6 was not apleasent experience.
So basically, i really didn't want to come as i was only coming here after not having enough money to settle in japan.
It all went uphill from there though |
