ok, understood - Christina is basically the same way.
In it's defense, I think the memory card solution is a better way to go, for a number of reasons:
The card is easy to use - just buy it, and slide/pop it in. Viola!
The cost of the player + the card is comparable (or less, in the case of the Rio players) to the cost of a flash player with fixed memory.
Firmware upgrades like the ones they have already done mean expansion up to 512 currently, and will, in all likelihood, go higher.
If you already have a digital camera, or are considering one, be aware that if the card types are the same, they are interchangable. (we have 3 digital cameras, and an mp3 player. Upgrading a card means all the devices are 'upgraded' and we can use small cards for the daily stuff, and bigger ones for longer trips).
Just some thoughts - please consider it, but go with what you will ultimately be happy/comfortable with.
