My general advice: Radeon 9550 or 9600SE. They're not all made equally well, so gimme an email sometime if you want some more info.

Why not just post it?

Don't get a 9550...not even DX9 and overall a poor performer.

9600SE isn't so worthwhile either. For about the same money, you can get a 9600XT, which is honestly as low as you can go with ATI and not buy a card that is already very dated and performs reasonably well. My experience and thus advice has been to stay away from any "SE" graphic cards.

The best all-round performer, bang for buck wise, is the Nvidia vanilla 6800. Only 12 pipes of the 16 are enabled, but it still kicks. Good price (less than 400,000) and will manhandle all of the titles out there and probably the ones to come for the next year or so. The 6800GT can easily exceed 6800 ultra clocks and is about 300,000 less, ringing in a about ~500,000 +/-. Some people are flashing the GTs up to Ultras without a hitch. (Get it?.... Laughing )

That card is also AGP, which you have to look out for when buying newer hardware...many are already PCI express solutions. They are really pushing that format now.

Sorry to the OP....just re-read the post and I was far away from your 100,000 won mark. Get anything you can for that price. Look in the used parts area of Youngsan....you may find a GF4 Ti series or something.

No problem Demophobe, I don't have really high spec needs, as long as Morrowind and Rise of Nations don't crash I'm happy.

Thanks all, I am taking a look at a used card this weekend and if that doesn't work out I'll be going to Yongsan.

Actually I'll be going to Yongsan anyways because that is like Disneyland for me, LOL

The best ATI card I spotted for sub-100k won prices was a Miditech Radeon 9600 (128MB), and for nVidia the Evertop Geforce 5700LE (128 bit/128MB).
For what you want, they're probably higher than you need.

Last post here, and another warning: Miditech. A buddy of mine recently had to return two 9800Pros from that company. Maybe just bad luck? I don't know.....they are however markedly cheaper than the others, whatever that means.

When I buy something, I try to get a name I know and trust. I personally go fo Elsa...there are many reputable brands out there. All I am saying is that all of my experience (limited, for sure) with Miditech has been negative.
