Littlefish, have you found a home for the kitty yet? I feel bad about not being able to take her, but really it wouldn't be a very good idea. Do you absolutely have to give her away, or is there a chance you would be able to take her back to New Zealand if temporary foster care could be arranged?

I've been a cat owner in Korea for many years. I have the same problems... who can care for the cat when I am out of town, who can take an extra cat or kitten... it's really frustrating sometimes. I would have more options in my life if I didn't have a cat. That said, I am grateful on a daily basis to have my kitty in my life. He brightens me up, makes me smile, makes me laugh, encourages me to take naps when I shouldn't, etc. It's definitely worth it.

And my cat doesn't mind living in a one room like he does now, cause he comes and goes outside all the time. He'll stay out sometimes for over 24 hours but comes back with a silly grin on his face. (And don't think he's getting some, cause he's not able to do the deed anymore). I don't know what he's up to, but he's enjoying life.
