Later this year we'll be taking a month off to jump on a Beneteau and cruise the Greek isles--Steve and Janet run a top-notch outfit.

VISAYAS include Boracay?

I liked Boracay and Palawan Island.

You should check out El Nido.

Reports from people who have visited Bali seem to be mixed more than other places like Thailand and Philippines.

I think that I've read more reports of people not enjoying Bali as much as other places like Thailand and Phils.

Thanks for the inquiry. Smile

I just got back yesterday from a maga five week tour of southeast asia. Started in sngapore, made my way up through malyasia, and then took side trips to honk kong, philippines (cebu, around dumagette, boracay) and bali.

Actually, out of all those places I mentioned the only one I would ever even consider going back to is the VISYAS. Seriously TB you MUST check out Cebu and the visyas ASAP. That was definaetly the highlight of my trip. I found the overall atomsphere of the philippines to be almost intoxicating. I almost felt like crying at the airport when I left the place becasue I enjoyed. I never had the kind of feeling with anyother country I have ever visited. Ever. If I could have gone back in time I probably would have completely cut all those other places out of my trip and just stayed in southern philippines longer. Before I was interested in visitng china, vietname, etc.. Now I just don't give a *beep* anymore becasue I know all those places will always be a let down after the Philippines. I am definately planning on returning there for an extended period of time after I finish this contract and getting certified to dive and going back to some of the places I missed (and there were quite a few of them). May even be marrried to filipinna girl next time I leave there (seriously)

Oh and Definately dont bother with bali. What an overrated crap hole that place was (and the philiipines more or less offers all the same activities as bali like diving, surfing, hiking nature, etc with less tourists).

On a side note Tiger Beer, why did you give up on updating your website?

I'm gonna start updating the website very soon.. next week I hope.

You are seriously putting Philippines way back on top of my list of next destinations! That region in particular - Visayas! I gotta get down there and check it out.

Just curious did you make it to Thailand as well?

Casca: He spoke Greek.

Casca: It was greek to me.

nope, didn't make it Thailand. Iwas there there the year before though, when I traveled overland into Cambodia. and then two years before that when I stayed

Again, Tiger Beer, if I MUST emphasize: if I could give you any one piece of travel advice from the bottom of my very soul it would be to GET THEE TO THE VISYAS FOR THY NEXT VACATION.
