one thing i am (halfway) stoked on is the idea of YOU being the one who plans/pays for your birthday.

one, you should be happy to be alive - so it only makes sense that it's you who plans the festivities. two, you're less likely to get whiney about the fact that someone couldn't make it/had to work/forgot your birthday.

(that being said, july 22, 2005 is most certainly not on me).

also - korean friends, hospitality, and that moment when you get past the 'you don't exist' barrier with someone - and they start treating you like a family member.

yes, korea is pretty damned good. now if they could just do something about the traffic and pollution...
