The ROC consulate also has an express service. For a little more you get it the next day (or maybe even the same day provided you go early enough).

dunno about the cost being 'topped' up with a fee to the agent so i checked the embassy website and it appears to be a standard charge, with no little extra to the agent.
we fly to shanghai on the 2nd, then get the train up to beijing on the 6th, so unfortunately we won't be in town at the same time... but make sure you pack an extra few pairs of your bae-yong-joon socks cos it sure looks chilly out tha'...
(btw, i'd love to meet that bae y-j fella, then kick him squarely in the nuts for being such an annoying goof.)

ROC = Republic of China = Taiwan
Don't think that's the right place to ask for a visa for China Smile

I tried to go to China last summer, but after a while the travel agent said he couldn't get me on a tour because he couldn't get me a visa. I think he was full of crap though. He probably couldn't fill a tour at the time I wanted, so he had to make an excuse to save face. I'll definately be going this summer, though. Those tours are dirt cheap.

90% of people reading this will have no idea what you're talking about, but thanks for the tip!
