I would tend to agree that the confrontational thing is linked to booze and bars.

I have been here 7 years and have got into two disagreements with Koreans. Thats lower then back home in some respects. Laughing

Some foreigners here are not necessarily more confrontational then Koreans., they just seem to look for trouble.

This type of person is often a newbie who doesn't know the rules here or some old timer who simply refuses to adapt to anything or to make any concessions.

I cut the soju out of my diet and I lost the attitude. Now I am the happy guy passed out at the end of the bar, the guy that the flower lady tries to pickpocket....

It's the soju man. Just say no!
I think next time I go to the states I'm gonna bring a bottle and get a chemical analysis. There's somethin' freaky about that drink that makes people freak out. Newbies usually seem to drink way too much of it. (As do too many Koreans)

Other than the soju nights, everything is has been smooth sailin'.

I disagree!!! Westerners are more confrontational than koreans!?!? I think not! And anyone who has spent any amount of time in korea...knows this!
Koreans are quick tempered and get into fist fights quickly! Look at all the protesting the country does...I mean the VIOLENT protesting! You don't see many other advanced countries that fight the cops with firebombs, sticks, pipes, etc... Look at all the pushing and violent behavior over traffic accidents between koreans. Look at the TV shows...man beating on women and in real life. Confrontational....koreans are!

every nation has confrontational people! koreans are thats a fact!
but they dont stand alone!

why is it that the both of you write the same? coincidence? i think not...

I have long thought that "hellofaniceguy" is "Itaewonguy's" alter-ego. The devil on one shoulder, angel on the other. Which one is winning, Itaewonguy?
