Nice to see hagwon teachers aren't the only nasty foreigners who steal people's jobs and drain the local economy.

I think you missed the point. You state that you have lived in Korea for three years, then imply that it is not difficult to move around. The average tourists spends less than 2-3 weeks in Korea. Do you really think that you are at the same level?
Also, as somebody who has lived in Korea for three years, you have probably figured out by now that many streets lack names and that in remote areas a building might not even have an address. How does a tourist find a hotel exactly when there is no address to give a taxi driver?
The traveler did not buy a ticket to the wrong destination because he didn't pronounce the name correctly. The article clearly states that he provided a map with his destination circled in red ink. A trained receptionist should have been clued in on the difference.
You mentioned a package deal to Jeju Do for $400. The writer clearly stated that he would rather spend an extra $100 to vacation on a beach in Thailand. It is a question of his personal taste and yours. Really, you must try to read an article next time before you leap to defensive judgements.
Bad traveler? What exactly is that outside of a silly subjective term? Sometimes tourists lose their luggage, make mistakes, or get robbed. Unfortuate incidents can happen on the road to anyone? If you are so far above all that, then maybe you need to stop traveling by safe package deals to Jeju-do and take a risk in a remote country for a change.

Good point. It seems to me at least that it is 100% geared to the locals and japanese business men, or large japanese or chinese tour groups. |

| Will Korea ever attract a lot of tourists? Seems unlikely. It's expensive and not as nice for weather as a good few other places, and it doesn't have the language skills to deal with foreigners much. |
