textin,

in case you hadn't thought of this, here it is.
myself, and each of us giving advice on this topic have been through similar circumstances.
i'm here to tell you that i have tried the labor board with no results in a case where i worked less than 6 months. the willingness of the labor board to help is indeed their job...their ability is another thing altogether.

as Wangja said, if you want to go and waste your time and energy to get back something that is not even rightfully yours, go ahead.

and, speaking of being 'wet'....
sounds like you have just as much poor judgenment with korean business as you do with korean women.
remember the time you came on there shouting the name of your 'girlfriend'? remember posting her pics to the world because you were too 'wet' to know she was playing you?

welcome back!
what are you going to do if you lose THIS time?
maybe spread some nasty links about your boss like you did with that girl?

Wangja, you have quoted my original post so you have obviously read it.

So I wonder why you didnt register that i was asking for something in particualar- a Korean speak to navigate me through the MOLabor website.
I have now found that person and we have started on this.

If I am successful, I will get all the airfare (1.4 mill) plus 20 days notice pay. There is a chance I will.

I think it sums up your current approach to life to spend time and effort posting about topics which you were not even invited to/don't concern you/do not apply to you (as you dont speak Korean I take it).

If it did apply to you, you could have offfered to help, or perhaps even replied saying you can speak Korean but don't want to help.

Instead you have wasted your time posting advice I didnt even want.

Who is wasting their time here? Its you old boy.

After 30 yeasr 'dealing with contracts' you have finally just given up and decided to waste your time bugging other people instead.

Why dont you try painting as a hobby, or reading perhaps. Maybe even go out and try for a girlfriend.

Perhaps I am not the only perosn on this site that would prefer to be able to use it for my purposes without having wet people like yourself tell me what they think?

The post doesnt concern you, so go bug someone else for kicks.

I wanted to make the point 'eye' that I didnt ask for nor want the advice of long timer internet addicts.
If you see a post and it doesnt apply to you....why not save your time and go do something constructive.
Are you really that miserable?

Well, Textin, I was surprised by the aggression in your last 3 posts. As, I suspect, were others. Here is your last post to me with a few comments in italic:-

Wangja, you have quoted my original post so you have obviously read it.

Yes, and so that you can remember here it is:-

I am looking for a Korean speaker who can help me to negotiate with my old employer. They kept some money from my last pay check for airfare which was not covered in contract. They terminated my contract early due to declining student numbers to save money but then kept the airfare money as well. My contract only gave then the right to keep airfare money if I was fired or left early.

I want to negotiate for 1/3 of the airfare money which is how long I was through my contract. I think this is reasonable.

I will pay 25% of whatever you can get if you are successful.

I will provide their cell number and details.

So I wonder why you didnt register that i was asking for something in particualar- a Korean speak to navigate me through the MOLabor website.
I have now found that person and we have started on this.

I read that you were seeking someone to help you negotiate with your former employer. I see no reference to helping you navigate through the MoL website

If I am successful, I will get all the airfare (1.4 mill) plus 20 days notice pay. There is a chance I will.

You said you were looking for 1/3 of the air fare. Nothing about 20 days pay in lieu of notice.

I think it sums up your current approach to life to spend time and effort posting about topics which you were not even invited to/don't concern you/do not apply to you (as you dont speak Korean I take it).

I do, not very well, but I do. I agree that I am guilty of trying to point you in the right direction. Tant pis, mea culpa.

If it did apply to you, you could have offfered to help, or perhaps even replied saying you can speak Korean but don't want to help.

I offered the help that I could.

Instead you have wasted your time posting advice I didnt even want.

So it seems: but a post on a bulletin board can be seen as a request for help. Sorry if in trying to help I offended you.

Who is wasting their time here? Its you old boy.

Again, so it would seem.

After 30 yeasr 'dealing with contracts' you have finally just given up and decided to waste your time bugging other people instead.

No, trying to share that experience for the benefit of others. Again, sorry if that offends you.

Why dont you try painting as a hobby, or reading perhaps. Maybe even go out and try for a girlfriend.

I thought about painting, but I have no talent (or time). Reading of course I do as much as possible. As to the girlfriend, thats a nice idea but my lovely Korean wife might not agree.

Perhaps I am not the only perosn on this site that would prefer to be able to use it for my purposes without having wet people like yourself tell me what they think?

Taken to the extreme, using the bulletin board for your own purposes sounds like posting to no audience. When you post you should expect answers, otherwise, why post? If some of those well-intentioned responses displease you, well, so what?

The post doesnt concern you, so go bug someone else for kicks.

I am mortified that you should consider me to be bugging you. I was trying to help.

Anyway, I wish you luck in your endeavour – and do, please, keep us up to date. As I said earlier, I think you have no chance, but I have been wrong before and sincerely hope that in this case I will again.

Bonne chance mon brave .

One last thing. I did not reply to your OP. I commented on this:-

Even if they did fire me, they would have needed a reason.

My contract was full time, with "gauranteed pay and hours". Not part time. So I left to find a new full time job. Contract was broken by them. ....

I had a Korean guy phone the director and explain the process of filing a cliam with the Loabor Department.
He explained the claim would be for 3 million total and asked her if she would like to negotiate for an agreeable amount.
I am being paid 500,000 won on Friday (into bank account).
Of this i will have to pay the Korean guy 100,000 (25% up to 100,000 max as agreed).
So I pocket an extra 400,000 this month.
Nice.

Thanks for all the advice lads.
I psoed to find some help (which i found via another source eventually anyway) and all I found was a bunch of desperate ESL addicts all trying to prove they know the most.
'Know it alls', is the phrase I believe.

the moral of the story lads is this: you really dont know squat and its always better to spend your tiem actually trying to do something than just sitting around telling others what you think is best/works.

One approach gives you a chance at progress in life, the other is just a boring distraction.

Happy hunting.

PS: It doesnt matter where the car came from, its just nice to drive (and listen to the CD player).

no, the moral of the story is, you can post crap on the internet and think people will believe you.

there is no way in hell that a hakwan owner, trying to save money by doing things legally, would so quickly agree to such a settlement unless he were more naive than you are.
a director, even rightfully owing you airfare, would laff at you on the phone if threatened with a 3million won claim.

you are a liar.... and a devious one at that.
please don't post anything about me on your flame sites.

OR in case i ever date a room salon girl and she wizzes by me in her Beemer with one of her other 'boyfirends'.

*sniff sniff*

speaking of crying...

Chronic,

we both lost count. Look at the thread titled "Labour Board Location??" That makes 5. Count them, 5 threads about the same incident.

hmm. labor board didn't do much back then...wonder why?

Crying or Very sad BOOHOO!! Crying or Very sad

should i now mention the other 3 threads of you crying about the girl who played you?
you plastered her name, phone number, email and photo all over the net.
too bad the mods deleted it, because with all this sobbing i need a good laugh.

interesting how you claim i spend too much time on the internet, tho, isn't it?
because, for a guy who claims such a personal victory and doesn't spend much time here like the rest of us 'wet' teachers, you sure are keeping a close monitor on this thread.

Crying or Very sad ...who's wet?

see you back here about job #3.

I usew this forum to shoot off a bit of steam or have a crack at someone who has let me down. For you guys its like a full time occupation.....your passion is this. Haha.

You only prove my point with your replies lads.
Your are like crying, sulking babies.
You dont post here to try and do any good, you simply do it because you have nothing better to do and it helps to fill your sense of inadequacy and boredom.
Teams of you losers then get together to target anyone who suggests you might be losers to begin with.
Its really classic.
And the whole thing just steams from your boredom.

I got 500,000 today in my account.
If I had of taken you losers advice, I would have got nothing.

As for the girl....those posts were just for kicks.
If you evert the opportunity to shag something perfect from head toe, you might find yourselves getting emotional over it.
there was never another guy. It was a mistake by the way.
And the sex is great. Although driving a bemma around Seoul is possibly even better.

Dont cry lads, money and girls are not everything....you guys have your internet complaints room to watch and nurture..
