Just perusing the jobs and noticed a lot were asking for gyopo's for around 2.5 but then one popped out that said 2.0 AND they want you to "perfectly" create the curriculum!?!

2.0 is what you pay a white monkey to come in and babysit the kids.

Wow, I nominate this guy for The Dave's ESL Cafe "I finally realized I have no place in the world, I'll never be considered part of Western culture in North America and I'll never fit into Korean society as the white monkeys back at home did such a good job civilizing me" Gyopo Loser of the Year.

In sum it must suck being a loser and outsider on two continents and I feel sorry for you.

such a friendly place, dave's. I love you all. Duh it was a joke. Get over yourselves. Funny how so many of you jumped on me for a slightly racist joke but let the hundreds of racist remarks about koreans fly by unadmonished. the road runs both ways, points to you who actually responded to the topic, those others just shows what losers you really are. Cheers.

Quit your wimpering. 'Foreigners are dangerous. Because they're stupid'. And your comment, '2.0 is what you pay a white monkey to babysit your children'. These jolly jests in your last two posts. You read like you're hankering to join a Korean version of the Klu Klux Klan. I guess THAT'S amusing, all right.

Does that make the majority of Dave's posters a white version of the KKK?

It's not whipmering, its shoving your own feces in your nose so that you get a good whif of it.

I have to admit he has a bit of a point here.

I laughed when the OP referred to 'white monkeys'. I think it came from people here who have referred to themselves as monkeys hired to entertain the kids.

Ya think? Laughing

As to the topic: 2 mil is OK for a teacher in a well established program, but I think it is low if the teacher is expected to create the entire cirriculum. It's fair to expect teachers to make lesson plans that supplement a program. I think you should ask for at least 2.5 mil for the extra work.

Depends. 'Making the curriculum' might just mean choosing a couple of books. Then 'making a syllabus' means dividing the number of pages by the number of days per term. Not too taxing.

There's irony in the following quotes if anyone cares to find it:

Yeah. One can only complain so much about the vocal minority of posters around here who are maladjusted malcontents. Surprised Most of us are pretty balanced and respectful about issues. But it's easy to sympathize with someone who's sick and tired of the negativity. I usually take a week or two break from Dave's when the bashing gets to be too much.

But the offensive remarks about Korea and Koreans are by no means coming from the majority of posters. One has to hang around here too much to get that distorted impression.

Have to agree. All the negativity on here about Korea can start to really affect me after a while. Takign a break from Dave's is in order.

As a white, semi-trained, semi-literate monkey, I feel semi-qualified to respond to your post, but only in a semi-rational manner. Laughing

Try to get some more specifics on what they mean by "develop a curriculum".

Do they mean you work from scratch and develop materials by yourself, and this would be while to are trying to prepare for and teach a regular load of classes?

If so, I would tell them to think about it a bit more.

If they just want you to choose a course book and use it, fine. Be careful though, this might mean that they don't have any books at all and you will be responsible for making a 1,000 copies/day.
