Welcome to Korea!

Amen. You will find many things make no sense here. For example, there are a host of Korean free web mail systems that bounce back all email coming from hotmail/yahoo/gmail. Why? Who knows. The best answer is "Because this is Korea." Kids don't take off their coats in class but complain its hot and want you to open a window. Why? "Because this is Korea." You're in a long line, you can't move the people in front of you faster but some old guy or woman starts pushing you from behind. Why? "Because this is Korea." Men love to spit all over a public bathroom floor although there is a garbage can and even a toilet where they could spit into. Why? "Because this is Korea ." School buses run red lights and cop cars don't bother to ticket them. Why? "Because this is Korea." People figure the best place to wait for their friend is right in front of a subway card reader entrance, blocking everyone's ability to use that entrance. Why? "Because this is Korea." It's rush hour on the subway. You're walking down stairs. The guy in front of you gets a cell phone call. He stops dead in front of you to dig out his cell phone and take his call, without regard that there are 200 people right behind him all moving forward, on stairs. Why? "Because this is Korea." Everyone is in a neat line for the subway. Two lines at the edges of the train doors. A line of people in the subway are ready to get off. And then some guy forms his own line between the two lines waiting for the subway. Now no one can get off the subway, he can't shove his way in, and the two lines can't get into the car until he figures it all out. Why? "Because this is Korea." Koreans run to the hospital for the common cold and get a heap of meds that have zero effect. Why? "Because this is Korea."
