I only gave them a copy. It was a certified copy that my mother made in my own country, signed by a magistrate. I've had 2 seperate E2 visas made with it and there's been no problem.

Simple. Threaten to call the labor board and your embassy, and that you are considering filing charges of theft if you don't receive your diploma on a set date. You should have your diploma in hand quickly.
