Maybe at a public school where your class is the only English class yes...
But at a hogwon the kids already have reading, listening, grammar and writing classes. Conversation class is just that, a chance to use the English the Korean teachers have been packing thier heads with all week, and hear a native speaker. If you get too caught up in "teaching", it's only going to detract from the spontenaiety. The best way to get some English to soak in IMO is try to separate the conversation class from the other classes as much as possible so they hopefully won't see it as more drudgery. |
