������ My mother's like this, and she got it from her mother, who got it from her mother. Anyway, I have a RABID fear of turning into my mother, which is one of the reasons why I moved to the other end of the earth. Ok- not to stray from the topic: one time I was driving with my mother, and she's letting go with a stream of litanies, which are like finger nails on chalkboard to me: "Oh- I TELL ya!"; "Old people shouldn't drive!"; "If I had a nickel for every time_________" She pushed me to the breaking point, so I just said (in my northwoods accent which seems to rear it's ugly head whenever I go back home), "Ah- GEEZ LOUISE!!!!!! Why do you have to complain anout EVERY. SINGLE. COTTON. PICKIN'. THING????!!!!" She became thoughful for a minute, then said quietly, "Well, if I didn't have anything to complain about, I'd have nothing to say." Well said, mom.
