al it takes is to have one Korean player on the league for the media here to show the games! sooo simple the koreans are.,. |
I don't know... I haven't seen much Turkish (Lee Eul-yong), French (Cho Won-kwang amongst others), Austrian (Seo Jung-won), German (Cha Doo-ri), Norwegian (Cha Ji-ho), Serbian (Kim Chi-woo) or English Championship (Seol Ki-hyeon) football on TV here since those guys have been playing there.
Looks like I'm missing out.

Yep...you heard it here first, the Korean news agencies haven't got a hold of it yet

Ok..I meant mainstream media...... |
Not being too picky over this but Yonhap had the story almost immediately after it broke on Thursday and have been running with it all weekend. Can't get much more mainstream than that for a Korean news agency.
They're not that bad at getting the news |

Manchester United approach PSV over midfielder Park
ROTTERDAM, June 7 (Reuters) - Manchester United have approached PSV Eindhoven about buying their South Korean midfielder Park Ji-sung, a spokesman for the Dutch champions said on Tuesday.
Park is on World Cup duty with Korea and will not make a decision until he has talked with coach Guus Hiddink, who is on holiday.
"Manchester United have officially approached PSV and PSV have told Park," the spokesman said.
"Park first wants to have a word with Guus Hiddink about his future."
The 24-year-old has been with PSV since December 2002 and was a key figure in the club's run to last season's Champions League semi-finals. |

It'll be interesting to see what he decides to do. I hate to see him go to Man U and sit. I'm a Man U fan, and I like Park Ji Sung. Still not sure how he'll do in the EPL if he goes...could be interesting.

'Man U', shudder United please. Man U is strictly used by southerners and plastics. 'EPL', read premiership if you don't mind.
Rant over.
This has been a distasterous season on almost every level. The scousers/dippers/dirties European win and the Glazer takeover have compounded what was an already terrible season.
And Park is most definitely not the answer to United's problems at the moment. |

i'm from manchester, and was a united fan. my dad used to take me to old trafford when i was a kid- that was in the days of mark hughes, steve bruce et al, not that most united fans around the world now would know who those people are.
basically, manchester united is not a manchester thing any more. the game is now more exciting, but has no heart at all. as far as i'm concerned, supporting the team would be practically the same as hoping samsung increases its market share in mp3 players.
i think park ji-sung is pretty cool though. nevertheless, screw glazer and the horse he rode in on. i hope they get relegated next season! |

South Korean ace to join Manchester United
June 16, 2005
SEOUL (AFP) - South Korean World Cup star Park Ji-sung has informed his Dutch club PSV Eindhoven that he is leaving for Old Trafford to join Premier league club Manchester United.
An official for Park's agent, FS Corp, has already visited the club's headquarters to announce the player's long-awaited decision.
Park had been hesitant to leave the Dutch champions because of his personal ties with club coach Guus Hiddink, who led South Korea to the semi-finals of the 2002 World Cup.
"Park has made up his mind to join Manchester and the president of our company, Lee Cheol-Ho, visited the Eindhoven office and informed them of Park's intention," said Kim Jung-Il, manager of FS Corp.
Park's contract with PSV, which he joined in 2002, will expire in June next year.
Park, 24, scored his team's first goal against Italian club AC Milan last month in the second leg of the European Champions League semifinals when the Dutch champions won 3-1.
He also scored the last goal when South Korea defeated Kuwait 4-0 this month and made it to the World Cup finals for the sixth consecutive time.
The transfer fee for Park will reportedly reach up to five million pounds (nine million dollars).
PSV had previously confirmed that they had received an approach from the Red Devils but said they wanted to keep the player. |

Well, between Samsung sponsoring Chelsea, and this signing, if anything, at least we should be getting even more Premiership games this fall!
Though I agree that Park is "most definitely not the answer to United's problems at the moment", I don't think that's what the signing's about. I think they're looking at a year or two down the road. Let's face it, aside from Ronaldo, Manchester's mid-field is aging. And I don't think Ji Sung is ready to step into the Premiership just yet. He'll need a season or two to adjust to the speed and style of play. Though a definite risk, it could turn out to be a good move for both United and Park.

I suspect he'll be wearing out a groove on the bench.
Although, Utd do field second-string players a lot in cup competitions.
Utd have a problem? I don't think so. They're a top 3 team. Most clubs would not see that as a problem. |

He certainly was more impressive in the CL against AC Milan than any of the current Man U midfielders were. That's a fact . |
