Who is Tim Sebastion? Is he related to John Sebastian? I always liked "Did You Ever Have to Make Up Your Mind?" and "Rain on the Roof". |

I googled up Tim Sebastion and now I'm more confused than ever. Sorry.
First, I got this:
From a press cutting on Friday June 21st 1996
Sacred Sunrise - Archdruid of Wiltshire, Tim Sebastian, leading a druid ceremony on Solsbury Hill
Fair enough. I often get my political views from druids. The trouble is, the guy in the photo doesn't have a mustache. So I figure he isn't the guy you referred to.
So I went on down the list. And here is what I found about another Tim Sebastian:

In a hard hitting interview Tim Sebastion pulls no punches as he accuses Israel of Gross Human Rights abuses - the wanton destruction of Palestinian homes; Olive & Orange Groves; the destruction of the food chain in Palestine causing the deliberate malnutrition of thousands of children. That is NOT editorializing? Could you give me an example of what is editorializing? Apparantly my education is deficient in this department. Since this guy is editorializing, I figured he is not the Tim Sebastian you mentioned.
Two strikes and I'm out. Please point me to the non-editorializing Tim Sebastian you were talking about. |

Tim Sebasti[a]n hosted Hard Talk on the BBC until recently.
He grilled anyone brought on the show.
Never knew his politics, and that's the point.
Objectivity.
He didn't write editorials a la Friedman, and it was his example that the poorly attempted, so-called "No Spin Zone" with O'Reilly tries to emulate.
Hardball with Chris Matthews is the closest we get in America, but even that is largely focused on America.
As if the median between left and right in America is a true median of anything. It's, for lack of a better description, "contemporarily arbitrary".
As such, that's exactly how I view Friedman.
Not as the compass pointing to what's right, but as a dial between two stations.
