The bill is not expected to pass anyway.

Not surprised that so many Russian women want to leave the country.

me neither. women follow money, and there ain't much within a 1000 mile radius of Noginsk. USA! USA!! beats in the heart of every nikita with a pulse. They even have coach tours for the dweebs of america to go there and marry them in droves, after exchangeing a few pleasantries.
The same operators run counselling businesses to console the poor guys after little kareninina has divorced them, once she has her green card.

its all very well for guys priveledged enough to have been born with a Canadian/US passport to gloat. But how would you feel if the U.S was suddenly ranked 50th in the world economy and every last American women ran after a passing japanese guy flashing some yen?

How long before someone in the South Korean Congress introduces a bill like this?

Quote:

MOSCOW (Reuters) - Russians who marry foreigners could be exiled and stripped of their citizenship under a bill being drafted by a group of members of parliament, a deputy said Sunday.

One of the bill's authors, Duma deputy Nikolai Kuryanovich, a member of the ultra-nationalist LDPR party, admitted parliament was unlikely to approve the measures but insisted they were necessary. "Our women, the most beautiful and best in the world, are going abroad. By doing this, they are wasting the most valuable thing we have -- the gene pool of our nation," Kuryanovich told Ekho Moskvy radio.

But while condemning women for going abroad, he also said he did not want people bringing foreign spouses to Russia either.

Newly-weds would be forced to go and live in the country where their spouses were from, Kuryanovich said, to protect Russia from "an invasion of alien elements."

"Adapting to life in Russia ... foreigners impose their own rules, which are unacceptable to us," he said.

Since the fall of Communism, the numbers of Russians marrying foreigners has increased significantly and a poll cited in respected magazine Ogonyok last year said one in three 17 to 25-year-old girls wanted to marry a foreigner and live abroad.

The LDPR party's leader, Vladimir Zhirinovsky, is known as a maverick who enjoys stirring up controversy and has traded punches with fellow deputies during parliamentary sittings.

here:

Probably just reactionaries vamping for their base. As for the women, I thought getting rid of your Russian citizenship was the idea.

So, if all of the N American men are out marrying Russians and Koreans and Philipinos and whatever, who's looking after all of the single women back home?

It won't happen...Russians are deeply nationalistic, a little xenophobic, and a bit crazy, but I kinow them well....if things feel apart in the country, then perhaps...but for now...no

I have to say it was sad to see how quickly our women deserted for the poms in flash cars once they got to London, even though we always thrashed them on their rugby tours. Harrow and Eton could never match the farm boys from the bush.

They have to use big shoulderpads when they play rugby, and they even have forward passing.

Women tend to get rather peeved when you hit the nail on the head like you do in your first point. So expect some scorn to come your way for saying that...although I have to agree with you, absolutely agree with you.

On the second point: Good point, taps into the complexity of the issue. Not simply xenophobia and racism at play here.

Parasites seek out the healthiest host, until they are allowed to become independent organisms.
Racism and xenophobia are handy, emotive cards to play for a resident male population trying to keep control of their females. Its just another way to eliminate the competition.

Americans generally stick with Americans (unless a cute financially equivalent European, Japanese, or whatever-comes-along).

Its the Germans who are marrying Thai and Brazilian prostitutes by the bucketload.

Dear boy,

I shall have to politely disabuse you of the ponderous notion that us old Etonians fail somehow to measure up to "the bush". My fellow dorm-chums would be flabbergasted that you seek to defame us in this unseemly and ungentlemanly manner.

Accordingly, I present you with this invitation: You may select two chums of your own, should you have any; and meet with myself and my cohorts Giles Ponderington-Smythe and Cedric-Cecil Pontefract-Wilhelmy-Fortescue Jones III, at midnight tonight behind the bicycling sheds. Once there, we shall engage in a heated match of "soggy biscuit", winner eats all.

You shall rue the day that you invoked my ire, and no mistake, dear boy.

I feel lucky I wasn't born with an American/Canadian passport.
