-While south korean women continue their exodus to the west in search of a guy who will open the door for her.

Looks like there'll be waay too much testosterone picking its nose on the Korean peninsula soon.

What's the going price, in Won?

I'm wondering why the South Korean farmers haven't figured this thing out. They need wives. The women from the North are considered 'beautiful' and are desperate for money. Seems like a match made in Pyongyang.

With Roh in the Blue House? I wouldn't hold my breath.

Man, you are SLOW. This isn't even a news to Koreans. Didn't you see any of the numerous TV reports about North Koreans escape to China done in Korean TV?

The tragedy lies in the fact that even though they escape the North out of hunger and despair, they end up being captured, traded and retraded, raped, forced of all kinds of labor, treated as sex slaves.

Now continue with your jokes. Sickos.

There would be a lot fewer jokes if your government actually took a principled stand on human rights in the North. If a former human rights lawyer won't take a stand, you can't expect other people to.

I dearly love my Korean friends but I will never ever understand why every single one of them doesn't stand up and demand the North stop abusing its own people.

Amen. The South Korean government is part of the problem here, and the youth (yes, indiercj, this is a generalization largely based on just my experience) is very supportive of the Sunshine Policy.

Interesting. I wonder: What are male:female ratios now, in China, NK and SK?

Preference for sons is causing trouble.

Interesting. I wonder: What are male:female ratios now, in China, NK and SK? Is it around 5% more male ? That's a big imblance.

Preference for sons is causing trouble.

Depends. You could get one for 800,000 won easily.

I wonder what a married relationship is like with a woman that you both know you bought?

I mean..the whole dynamics of it must be pretty wierd.
Mind you I guess its not a lot different to many conventional marriages, where the guy basically buys a wife by impressing her with lots of cash. "I work at samsung! Marry me!"
