This is what Ive heard, read and noticed... (but Im no expert!)

Public school perks - more pay, more holidays, less contact teaching time..

Down side - large classes (35?), more non-contact hours spent at the school (40-45 hour week total).

What do you guys think?

I just read on a recruiter website that September is the worst time to find a teaching job in Korea. In my opinion, you can find a job at almost any time of year in Korea.

I was planning to look for a job starting in September and am a bit worried now.

Don't believe the hype, I was looking for a job this time last year and recruiters tried to sell me all kinds of bollox, saying I was applying at the wrong time, I was the wrong nationality/too old/too experienced/too inexperienced/too expectant/not likely to get a job as I was applying from Southeast Asia....blah blah blah. I ended up with a job working for a university with dream conditions. If you have the misfortune to talk to Kris Krinch (one of the most full-of-it-recruiters of them all) he'll sell you this tripe. Basically, there is more work here than people to fill it, just hold tight and you'll get something acceptable. Recruiters have an interest in making you believe that there is nothing out there for you other than what they're offering you right now. That is how they squeeze suckers into cr@p jobs. Talk to experienced people on the board here and network, you'll find something good.
