I think I have complete set- there were only 37 or 38 issues if I remember correctly, and I religiously bought them when they came out each month.
[check the price - those bastards stole my allowance!] |

Sparkles: The first spiderman comic I bought was indeed a certain Marvel number 3, featuring Dr octopus. They were part of a very small selection of comics that used to be available in Zimbabwe in the 70's and early 80's.
The cover I posted looks similar, -but you're right I'm not sure its the same one.
they were done by Stan Lee.
I suppose there were different series of them:) |

I liked the darker series of comics
such as.....
The Crow
And Sandman's "Death girl"
and the later "star wars" series
and my favorite....the night of the living dead- london series
that was a creepy series
not to mention, "Heavy Metal" comics.....they were cool
Especially when they featured "Druuna"
...She was a quality cartoon....yummm!!!...... |

Yeah, Ghost Rider was great. It was among the few 'dark' titles out at the time.
I especially loved:
The Byrne X-Men years
The Miller Daredevil years
Jim Aparo's 300+ run on Batman
Sandman
Justice Inc.,
Rom, Spaceknight
Preacher
And the best was Savage Sword Of Conan. Still is. |

TV episodes were good, too. There was a movie John Carpenter made called 'The Fog' based on these comix. |

I've never been a big "Batfan," partly because, when I first really got into reading comics, Aparo had stopped penciling Batman.
All other renditions, for me, pale in comparison.

I've recently discovered DC++ which is a lot like Napster was. There is a huge comics hub and you can download pretty much anything you can think of.
Everything by Frank Miller is good to great, and I've found that Batman has had some real low moments over the years.
