Homer's price seems about right. I would blanch at paying more than a million for any major North American destination. Most travel agents here have access to similar sets of discounts, so it's mostly a matter of finding an accommodating agent with whom you can communicate. Some will just assume you are rich, and not mention the low-frills options (which probably pay a lower commission as well).
Of course, during the peak season there are fewer discounts and they are sold out more quickly. (I was recently considering 1.2 for a round-trip to Boston, but only because I waited until the last minute). |

I just got my ARC made in time to go on vacation, so I can blow this popsicle stand.
Any update stories on the possibility of standby?
I'd like to head somewhere this Friday or Saturday for a week to ten days.
Or... how likely one can book a flight a day or two before. Is there a magical cutoff period for prebookings? (like, 24 or 48 hours or something) |
